Earlier Downtime

Earlier on, the site went down and was replaced with one of those generic search engines that identifies keywords used to find the site, and posts relavent searches.

The reason this happened here is a result in a lapse of my attention, and the host failing to email me regarding a site issue. It turned out that the domain under which we were registered had expired, after three long years. I've handled the matter and Hostgator appologised for not contacting me on the matter prior to expiration.

I tell you this information because, one, I wanted to apologise for the inconvenience, and two, to assure you all that this will not be a regular occurance. Though parts of the site may fail (Gallery, Vent) from time to time as I fuck around with code and settings, the site itself I aim to have a 99.9% uptime rate, the same amount as the host offers for their systems.

If you were around for old FW, you'd know that this wasn't always the case, and sometimes, more often than I'd like, the site would go down for hours due to a coding failure, system resources being consumed by too many things, or whatever other arbitrary reasoning.

But no, this time things are far more stable, streamline, and secure. Thus, the site will remain up far longer and stronger.

Actually I was asleep when the site was down to begin with, but it's good to know things are working all normal and junk.

Yeah, I woke up yesterday, and during my normal refreshing of the usual sites, that search engine thing came up.  Glad that got fixed.
