As said before in the FW gaming thread, a couple of us finally got together and played borderlands last night.

Day 1

Getting everyone set up in the mean time, as well as me getting the download started for the DLCs on the game, we pretty much sat about waiting for rain to show up early on. With Dracco helping to entertain us with 2 the ranting griffin over his headset. We enjoyed a couple of laughs.

Getting the group gather together, Rain Dracco Hal Jek (Neko) and myself in the game, we start off with getting our classes picked out. Rain being the siren. Dracco being the Berserker. Hal Jek taking the Soldier. And myself taking the Hunter.

Getting into the game I remembered why it wouldn't be so fun in the beginning with the lack of good weapons till much later. Though the effort taken to play together, with the bits of confusion about in game, we begin with the first few missions. I realize though later that we could finish a few of the missions rather quickly by having two groups of two going about the map and getting quest points finished.

With nothing really to point out except dracco found himself stranded behind enemy lines more then once, rain beating me in a race to the weapons shop, and much huddling around the turret when Hal throws it down. Its beginning to look like a pretty awesome play-through. :D

Heeeeeey....I only got stuck there twice!  And the first time was because I decided to pull a Leeroy Jenkins move against Bonehead.  D:

But yes, if there is one thing to be said about Borderlands regardless of what downloadable content that there is installed or not; you'll more than likely find yourself yawning at a bit of a dull drum pace as you meander your way through the first 20 levels or so.  The missions feel a bit repetitive, though the ones for TK Baha are always entertaining; even if you just stand there and listen to his cometary for a few minutes.   Larger weapon payouts and rarer stuff not-withstanding the beginning of any game more or less is usually boring beyond belief.  Mostly because its training, getting used to said game as you've not had to play it for a long time, etc...

But all in all, it was a fun night and I do look forward to some other ones where it'll be even more people, different games, and hopefully, without a lot of the lag that I was running into last night.  XD  That and...er...no more Leeroy Jenkins until I'm a higher level berserker XD

Well that is to be expected of most games early on. Lest they throw all the action you can handle at in the beginning and suddenly your left with the numb desensitized feeling in the middle of the game.

I'm up for playing again tonight. I won't be able to do this every night with my upcoming job. But I think we can manage to do this every few days at least, if not every night pending a good day on everyone's part till were done with the game. XD

Totally up for it! My gamertag is Luckybuddy so feel free to add me! I hope you don't mind my gross annoying voice! Haha!

Is it too late for other people to join in on this? I have plain Borderlands though.

No it isn't. In fact because I've been delayed for tonight (mum is convinced to let my brother play for a few more hours, even though he had played over 12 as it is on me and his system.) I may have to pick it up the next day. and even though I've got the DLC's, you don't need them to do anything more then explore other areas and quests. The game itself is plenty big enough to keep a person busy. :D

If your going to be on later, or tomorrow, I can get on and play with ya.

I've got a lvl 12 hunter right now. And me and the other folks have been starting from the beginning so we can enjoy a mulitplayer play-through.

Day two.

I was convinced by rain, and by a personal fix it up idea, to start another file for the hunter class. Though in the long run it may be convoluted as downtown Charleston, it will let me play more with others without getting ahead of everyone.

I was graced with the new addition to the group in Rain's absence, Lucky had jumped on with Dracco (Hal Jek joining in later) and me.

As we began anew from the beginning once more, dracco picked a lvl 13 hunter to help speed things along for lucky and me. Going through the first few missions, lucky being an terrible driver through some cases. Other times propelling me or dracco with the front of his car, whether to truly help us or to amuse everyone I couldn't tell. XD

Shortly after getting to lvl 10 or so with our respective characters, Hal Jek (neko) joined in with us for a full group of four. Two soldiers, a berserk, and a hunter. With two turrets giving us support by life and ammo regeneration, we found ourselves wandering into the upper level territory. Which proved to be more fun then earlier suggested. :)

It became a bit more fun in personal opinion because of the fact that we went to higher level area's and decided to use the four of us to take down the higher level NPC's. Though it made it much more difficult, it was far more enjoyable to take down an enemy that had taken so long to bring down, and making the progress to the next one. With ammo shortages, people bleeding out, and a frantic moving from one spot to recharge shields to the next. It was more then fun. :D

I'm downloading the Knoxx's Armory so I can break the level cap of 50 later on and have access to those missions. I found out that I'll need to repurchase the underdome since I downloaded it through a CD based copy I got at gamestop. Since that doesn't count for downloaded history.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next time I play. ^^

Hey! Sounds like a lot of fun.

I'm level 50 with the hunter already in Borderlands and Knoxx's Armory is brutal with just a single player.

If we can get you on xbox then we can play with ya nester. :D

I am trying to get a second playthrough done of The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. I won't start it unless I have a party. Anyone up for it?

As the orange Kitty has just bought herself a brand spanking new copy of borderlands, I'm totally up for anything if you guys wanna play it.

Sure thing. Its kind of been on the back burner for a bit, mostly because my job is very unorthodox with common sense and scheduling the weeks.

Though I am going to be going for classes which promises 8 hour days or less. So we can jump on this thing tomorrow if you like. :)

Last night I ended up playing almost all night with Dracco, Mito and Fen. And I wanted to Thank them for all the fun I had last night. If It wasn't Dracco's weird internet's or Fen's Random Spaz fests or Mito's giggles.. it wouldn't have been worth it. Thank you guys I hope to play with you guys again soon. Mwuah!

And here I thought that people just enjoyed playing with me because of my sexy voice. I know Fen was totally into it. :P  Anyways. Woo! Yeah last night was fun, 5 hours of blissful borderlands hopping and me running out of ammo constantly for my sniper rifle whilst trying to power level some friends :3 Good times, good times.  DAMMIT SOMEONE GET AN AMMO CLASS MOD!!! XD

Definitely a lot of fun. We got to do this more often.
