It was a regular day there in the small coffee shop known as Café Caliga. The regulars made their rounds and sat around the island in the center where the employees worked happily enough. Tables and chairs lined the sides and along the back. Plenty of space for people to work on their computers, read a book or simply stare and watch the shuffle of life moving back and forth. Deni was one of those who simply sat back and enjoyed the view. She had no place she needed to be, and no one that she needed to see. Instead, she sat back in the oddly shaped chair, one mostly exposed dark red furred leg propped over the short arm of the chair while she rested against the taller on the opposite side. Her foot patting the air idly as she sipped on her coffee, she murred at the taste with eyes softly closed only to open them up at the sight of a pair of furs that had just come in.
Her father's office was just next door. He'd invited her to come visit, and in time she likely would. She'd been curious about seeing the offices of Furry-Within and wouldn't mind meeting her father's co-workers. He wasn't really her father though, that much was almost clear enough just by the fact she was red and he was orange. No, he'd be way too young to be her father anyway. She was actually the daughter of his cousin and his wife who had passed away some time ago. He'd treated her like his own all the same and she loved him for it. However, she wasn't a girl when she'd first come to him either. Her change in lifestyle might never had been accepted by her own parents, but Nester had supported her in the matter and had even helped her find the right methods and treatments for her body. Those that had made her into the rather attractive vixen she'd become. A few rings in her left ear dangling and glistening in the light as she smiled warmly and simply admired the moment.
Adjusting her short black skirt a bit, she fixed her position a little in her chair and checked the time on a white slung loosely around her wrist which matched the white dress shirt she wore with the top two buttons opened just enough to exposed the height of her chest and just a hint of the black bra she wore beneath it.
She admired Caliga's taste in furniture. All the chairs were oddly shaped to contour to even the strangest of furs that might come in on a regular basis. The tables were all square, low and made of a nice hard wood. They'd been in use for some time and as she would see on the one in front of her, some even had old coffee stuck in the cracks with bits of food the staff was either too lazy to clean or simply didn't notice. The staff were nice and congenial. Many of them were students at the local college down the road and Deni had even learned a few of their names. The music had been chosen by them and an old De La Soul album was currently playing though most people didn't seem to even notice it seemed.
Tired of playing with her phone, Deni looked at the random furs coming in, getting their coffee and then moving to one of the stands to fix their creams and such. It all seemed rather mundane. A group of furs on the couches in the corner laughed and continued to talk loud. An employee tried her best to clean off some of the large windows that lined the store, just to get the finger prints off it seemed as the girl looked as though she was trying to get it done as fast as possible. Deni counted a dozen people in Caliga for the moment, but that would change as the day progressed. Her fluffy dark red tail flicking idly, against the seat, she closed her eyes and began to consider a quick snooze.

Mikkaddo

Mikkaddo entered the coffee shop, unready for the smell of coffee being so thick, he was never ready for it. The island in the center was where he headed quickly, taking small breaths until he was used to the smells, and smiled to the girl behind the counter. He came here often enough one or two employees knew him by name. "Hey there, I'll take my usual" he said as the girl smiled and rung him up, he paid for it, and moved to the next step on the counter and while looking at the items in the display he asked "oh dear . . . is that a cheese danish?" A man putting things in the other shelves of the display said "oh yeah, fresh and hot too." Mikkaddo murred softly and said "well by all means I can't let that get away . . . I'll take it" and handed over some cash to pay for it. When the drink was ready he looked around for a spot to sit and saw a gorgeous red fur in a black skirt seeming to watch the masses around her. He smiled softly and moved over to a seat next to her and sitting down with his dark tea and danish. "Mmmmm . . . I do love this cafe`" he said mostly to himself, though in all honesty it was an outward statement as much as inward. A bit cliche` perhaps, but he did actually like this place.

"It's alright," a soft voice would return. She had watched him sit down with curious interest. Always one to love getting whatever attention she could, she didn't mind meeting the seemingly friendly stranger. "At least the music is good and doesn't put me to sleep. Hi, I'm Deni." The young fox shifted herself around on the soft plush chair to face him. Her knees together as she sat up a bit, her tail swishing back and forth. She was clearly intrigued by his presence, that, and it gave her something to do on an otherwise mundane day. He wasn't that bad looking either.

Mikkaddo

He smiled as she turned to face him, tail moving around. "A pleasure to meet you . . . I'm Mikkaddo" he said to her, giving a soft chuckle, he was going to enjoy today, a damned good pastry, a nice hot drink .  . a nice hot conversational partner. He gave a soft look around the cafe then back to her. "Do you work around here?" He was curious about where she normally would be, he didn't remember seeing her before, but then he rarely got a chance to actually sit down at this cafe and look around, usually he would no sooner sit down and start eating than he'd get a call or text about something on the site and would have to rush back to the office.

"Nice to meet you Mikkaddo," she reply with a warm smile of hospitality. The boredom had been sickening until now. At least she had someone to talk to, as long as he was staying for a bit that was. "No, I don't have a job, but I'm supposed to be interning at an office near here soon. Furry-Within. Have you heard of it?" she said cocking her head to the side before blushing a bit and continuing. "I know it probably sounds like an odd place to work, but my uncle works there and said he'd find something for me while I'm on break from college. What about you? DO you work around here? On your break or something?" She'd paused to drink more of her coffee while waiting patiently for his response.

(I'm thinking this happens a day or so before the office thread starts. To give her, Mikk and whoever else some background history. These threads were supposed to happen sorta simultaneously, but perhaps they will if this one catches up with the other.)

Mikkaddo

He smiled and started chuckling a bit. "Really now . . . that's very interesting, I'm actually off for the rest of the day, was a nice slow one this time. But I work at Furry-Within, I'm the IT Director there." He gave a soft chuckle, he hadn't expected to see anyone that would work there at this time of day, usually he ended up being either the only one or being there so shortly that no one else was around for it. He then started chuckling again noticing she was a fox, and had to ask. "Are you by any chance . . . Nester's niece?" He knew Nester had one as he'd heard talk about her before at parties and what not, but he'd not heard who the intern for IT was, who knows, maybe he was talking to her?

"Really?" she said with an a grin of interest. She'd never met one of her uncle's colleagues before and was curious to learn more about the place and people she was likely to meet. "I didn't know you guys came in here. Yes, I'm Nester's niece. How do you know about me? Does he talk about me at the office?" She didn't think her uncle talked to other people about her. It was rare he ever introduced her to anyone other than perhaps the people he dated. What was more intriguing was finding out how much this wolf knew about her and what he uncle had been telling people.

Mikkaddo

Mikkaddo chuckled softly as she asked, Nester didn't really ever say much, but he mentioned he'd had a niece and that she might become an employee at the office. Now his interest was rising. "Well, he's mentioned he had a niece but . . . honestly he never said she was so gorgeous, though he did mention you might work with us, I have to say . . . I'm more than willing to . . . show you the ropes, if you'd like" He gave a soft smile, holding it with a chuckle, trying to hide the wide grin he was holding toward her in his head. He wanted this girl to work in IT, that was certain . . . long nights in that IT department server closet. The tables to the side were far enough away from the machines it wouldn't hurt anything, and the machines were loud enough no one could hear . . ." He had to stop himself there before he failed to hold back on the grin.

The wolf seemed rather nice and friendly, and his compliments did not go unrecognized which he'd easily see in her faintly flushed cheeks. Shifting a little against her seat, she blushed into her coffee with another sip and then put it down once more. Her legs crossed, she leaned against the side of the large enveloping chair. As she listened to him continue however, she could almost here his mind thinking dirty thoughts between syllables. Something a girl like herself had gotten used to recognizing over time. She had to stop and think for a moment. Should she make things awkward for him, tell him the truth, or simply let him have his fun and have him find out the truth the hard way. He was a seemingly nice guy after all, so she figured she'd see how far it would go for now.

"I might like that," she said with a soft grin on her lips. "Do you think my uncle will let you help me? I don't know what he's going to have me do yet. I think he said something about working for either him directly or a guy named 'Fen'."

Mikkaddo

He leaned back a bit still smiling, something was off, she was holding back on something, some secret she thought would ruin things, but that was ok . . . she already said she'd be working in the office with him soon. If that and her personal relation to the boss wasn't it, then he probably didn't want to know at least yet. "Fen's a good man, I work in IT though, not too far off from where he is. You'll know because I'm the one who's there at the crack of dawn and usually I'm running from spot to spot making sure nothing explodes." He gave a soft laugh, it was an exaggeration of what he did sure, but damage control was a major part of his job description. If something went wrong with the workstations, he's the one they called on, if a server started spitting errors, he's the one that fixed it.

That and he was desperately wanting to know more about this girl, especially now that she was holding something back. He could tell he didn't want to know most likely . . . but a secret is always enticing isn't it? It's like a telephone, even if you're somewhere else, at some person's house or an office you don't work at, a phone rings . . . you want to pick it up. Just to see who is on the other side. He was wanting to know what was on the other side of that door she was keeping closed. Now he had to know.

Deni chuckled a bit at his odd description. Though she wasn't a computer genius herself, she knew how he meant it and could understand the humor in it.

"Sounds like you work really hard there. Does that mean your done for the day or are you still on the clock?" she asked as she lifted her cup to her soft lips once more. "Is this what you do with your free time? Hit on young girls in coffee shops?" Taking another drink as she listened to his response with a cunning smirk on her face.

Her tail began to flick back and forth idly as her mind pondered. She could tell he was intrigued by her, but seemed to be stuck making simple conversation. It was evident by his manner that there was more interesting things about him outside of the facts about his job. Sure, she had her own secrets, but she wanted him to ask.

Mikkaddo

He chuckled and looked down shaking his head. "Honestly I'm always on call, Nester sometimes jokes that if I came into the office anymore often the janitor would start thinking I was part of the furniture." He wanted to know more . . . but how to ask? it's not like you could just say "hey, wanna have sex?" or something like that. No, he'd have to do this carefully . . . "I am off the rest of the day, assuming they don't call me in at some random moment. Uh . . . hey, want to maybe go find a spot more private to talk? this place is a little too public for real conversations if you catch my meaning . . ." He could honestly hold most of the conversation he wanted to here, but he was curious just how far she was willing to go, and this was, if nothing else . . . a way to gauge that.

"Real conversation?" She tried to hide her interested surprise. Any doubts she may have had about him looking to pick her up had gone right out the window. It was certainly more clear what his intentions were. Though she wasn't sure yet if she shared the same 'enthusiasm,' she certainly thought it worth while to simply give him a chance. Besides, it'd certainly be interesting to see how the whole thing paned out.

Though she didn't find his joke particularly funny, she smiled politely and gave a soft chuckle to be nice.

"Sure, we can get going. I'm kinda tired of this place myself. Let's go." With that, she lifted from her seat and stood there beside it. Her skirt falling into place with practiced precision in an instant gave him precious little time to see anything it may accidentally reveal. Her shirt around her mid drift did need a little adjusting though to hide her belly. Bending sideways, she grabbed her coffee and walked it to the garbage all the while swishing her soft tail behind her. Tossing her cup in, she began moving back towards the wolf. Joining him and beginning to follow.

"All right, where to?"
