New Thoughts On An Old Premise

Surprisingly, this is going to be the first post in the forums for me.

A while back when I was a member of another forum similar to this, Furango.net, I had begun a roleplay campaign. I was, and arguably still am, incapable of DM'ing such a campaign, but I'd like to present it to everyone else and see if perhaps it can still take flight.

I had called it Chasing Shadows. It would begin with everyone's created characters awaking in their respective cells in a science research institution, specifically one that cared little for the personal care of their experiments. These experimental facilities were lead by a group of individuals seeking negligible senescence, the property of not aging. They could still be harmed or killed, but if remaining healthy and unharmed, they could live potentially forever.  Each character, due to the various experiments headed in this facility, acquired unique abilities or powers and, upon discovery of these abilities, had to work together to escape the research lab at all costs. Eventually, long down the road, their goal would be to ultimately take down the heads of that research corporation, to stop them from committing these experiments. The reason I called it Chasing Shadows is because I wanted the players to always be on the outskirts of their trail, barely keeping up with these shadowy figures until things got rolling.

When I began this I did so incorrectly, I allowed certain actions and in general did a very poor job of actually Mastering the campaign. It fell apart relatively quickly. I'd like to take another look at this and see if it can be done right. I'd like to make this a D&D styled campaign, something I should have done originally but was foolish enough to think I could do it my way.

But more than just myself, I'd like to see how you guys would run with it, how you'd tweak it, add or take away from it. I want the idea to go to you, I want it to be yours. What I'm saying is let's see if we can give this some new life from Furry Within.

Yay first forum post :3

Sounds like a fun idea, Fridge.

Fun if done right. The first attempt was fun up until it became broken. I'd like to make this a community effort in brainstorming and compiling thoughts and ideas, expanding on old thoughts but also introducing new elements and content. Of course it should have a solid, tried and true method of going through such a campaign. I'd like it to be stat and data driven. My first attempt was driven through player opinion on how things should and should not work. It was too open in a sense.

If this moved into a workable thing, I don't want to see it die so early. It should have an end, just not one that mimics the failed upbringing of baby birds pushed out of the nest to fly, only to be dashed upon the earth below and lost.
