[Quick warning: this started as a chat RP and has moved to the forum, so forgive the shockingly long at least somewhat difficult to read setup of the first two posts, we'll see how well it goes from here though]
The War had been over for a few years, at least that's what the brass and the government told everyone. That's what was pasted on walls and projected on screens and in homes everywhere, all that was left was the few rebellious factions in the "dark corners of the systems." Sure, the monsters were gone, the "threat" eliminated, but there were still more. There were always more, hence the need for the Squadron. Named Black Force Zero, after the original mission project name Black Dawn. The Zero Squadron was the first one made, brand new technology, armored suits, special chems, genetic mutation, everything possible to make them better, to make them the best. Mikkaddo was among them, a senior officer and veteran of the war. He'd seen the monsters up closer than most anyone, having been the sole survivor of one of the first frontline battles.
He put his helmet away in the locker, finally back after so long in the drift, 3 weeks hunting down hives, 3 weeks blasting creatures that were better left to nightmares, he leaned back against his locker, letting a long breath out, finally breating, finally a chance to wash off the dark stains of blood from his suit and his fur. He heard a door open while he kept his eyes closed, his ears perking to the sound. "So, they finally let you have a moment of peace too eh? how as the Blood Stain Nebula?" Blood Stain was a nickname the soldiers had given to the Nebula who's official name was the Crimson Rift due to it's shocking resemblance to, well, a blood stain.
(00:18:17) KristineGreylight shifted her stance slowly. The wolf smiling a little bit as she turned to look at Mikk. All of this unit was highly decorated. The invasion had taken quite a long time to drive back and much of the earth was still in ruin. Kristine herself was covered in the titan class armor, the highest of the new upgraded armors. Pure titanium alloy with an underlying microfiber and kevlar vest. It was enough to stop almost anything. The micro energy generator was enough to hold off a few plasma shots before failing.
Kristine grinned and shrugged slowly "Nothing we couldn't handle. The others are pretty tired and banged up though." Few people realixed that Kristine was the start of the dark program herself. Her tail flicked a little bit as she sighed "How was your field trip?"
(00:29:26) Mikkaddo: He leaned his head against the locker, the cold steel feeling almost refreshing compared to the feeling of microfbiers and kevlar and stuffing. "Sometimes I wish I was still a Greeny, full of piss and vinegar, but then I remember the Greenies have even worse nightmares." He looked to her, the first of the Dark Ones, as the civies and "normal" soldiers called them. "How about you? still having the shakes? I know I am . . . fucking meds are getting weaker. Maybe they're trying to phase us out." He wasn't the very first Dark One, but he was from the first Generation of them, 6 were made originally, but only 3 survived to become veterans, 2 died off early, one during the initial mutation, one due to complications with the chems. The other two died on their first mission out, no one was surprised by that though, the creatures were like something out of a goddamn myth, soldiers that were built like panthers with scale mail armor platting on everything but their belly and the undereside of the throat, heavier creatures that stood on two legs abut had a massive natural plasma blasting arm, and the true fear makers, massive beasts that could hurl entire APCs without breaking a sweat and were known to cause mild earthquakes in their wake. "Lots of soldiers, few heavies and a commander, oh . . . and 3 goddamn Siege Tanks . . . goddamn siege tanks . . . I promise you, they're getting smarter . . . it's bad enough they found a way to transpor thtemselves off world . . . but we can't even figure out how the hell they're doing it anymore, or, they won't tell us if they know anyway."
(00:42:18) KristineGreylight chuckled as she leaned back and took her helmet to push it to the bench beside her. "I never had the shakes." She admitted. Most people knew that she was the first, few people understood just what that meant for her. It was her blood, her genetics they used to create the program. Her tail flicked again as she pressed her hands to the chest plate, hitting the buttons to release the armor. "Seige tanks huh? I'm sure that will be quite a story for the ladies in the tavern tonight." She added with a grin. Her own squad had seen plenty of losses. Three of the new gens were lost on this mission itself.
She took a deep breath. "There is plenty of speculation. But honestly we aren't even sure how they got here. They are just naturally adaptive. They change at a pace that puts even our science to shame it seems like." Her hand moved down to the gun at her side. "It took us years just to replicate the natural plasma emissions of their bodies."
(00:50:03) Mikkaddo: He picked up his own side arm off the bench, looking at it, he could almost see it attached to one of those things. See it glowing with that sick unholy light they had. "Yeah . . . replicate, how sick is that huh? millions of years of evolution, thousands of generations of technilogical and weapons advancements and the best we could do is copy them . . ." He sighed softly letting his eyes slip closed and smirked softly. "They do love hearing stories about the "brave soldiers" killing the "scary monsters" don't they?" He chuckled, then grunted, gripping his chest, the red peeking through his bandages and casual fatiquges. "Damn . . ." he sighed again and tried to stand, it was difficult but he managed it, walking over to Kris. "Good to see you again though Kris, it's been what . . . a year? 2? I'd almost forgotten what you look like, but then . . . I'll never foget what your foot felt like against my back . . . or my face" he chuckled then grunted again, thinking back to the specialized bootcamp for the First Generation, she'd been the squad leader and he'd been less than enthused about his new orders at the time, unwilling to cooperate at first.
(01:02:26) KristineGreylight lifted one leg and pressed it to the bench for a minute. Kristine frowned some as she took her hand and pushed it down to hit the boots release on the suit. "Yeah, well one thing we never did understand was that nature is the deadliest of all inventors in the end." She spoke again with her eyes fixed upon him. There was a bit of a pause before she set her foot down and reached for her locker. "Try this." She replied and pulled it from the cabinet before tossing it to him. The pack containing a bit of reddish blue liquid. "This will help with the shakes." She added as she looked at his bandages. "WHat happened there?"
The wolf moved to take her second boot off. She was just in the arm and upper leg armor now. Her ears perking towards him. "Aye, they love a good story where the hero wins. Just remember that." She said with a grin. "Heroes get the girls too." She teased. "Live it up while we can. Once the monsters are gone, we very well may become them next."
(01:13:56) Mikkaddo: He took the pack, looking it over, and then looked down at the bandages. "The commander . . . didn't take kindly to losing more than a batallion of soldiers in a single battle, they're getting brave, actually took me by surprise, one second I'm taking down soldiers one after another, the next thing I know there's a carapace blade staring at me, erupting out of my chest."
He put a hand to the wound in his chest. "The boys in the squad say I'm taking on too much, but I can't help it if I want my mind to go white . . ." He reffered to something that tended to happen to veterans, especially the men, in the midst of battle, the blood flows faster, they start to get an adrenaline high and their minds start to empty and their sight starts to slow down but not their moevements. Their blood flows with endorphins and oxytocin with each fresh kill once it starts to go "white" some see it as a haze around the edges of their vision, some stop seeing all together, their eyes glazing over with a white shade that engulfs everything.
(14:54:15) KristineGreylight seemed to pause and take in his words. "Brave, or desperate?" She asked. Her ears pinning back. "We were desperate not long ago. It lead to where we are now too. Maybe we should keep from making them too desperate.". Her foot fell to the ground. Those blue eyes glancing at him again for a long moment. She was familiar with the white. Few people knew the reason why it happened. It was attributed the natural chemical responses from the body interfering with the genetic alterations. Kristine wasn't as sure as the scientists thought. " be careful, going white sometimes leaves you less observant." She spoke softly. "You are lucky though... This blade missed your heart"
(15:00:05) Mikkaddo: laughed softly before grunting again and gripping the spot where he was bandaged. "Gods don't I know it . . . took a nice trophy home with me too, did you see it? some of the Greenys put it up in the main room." The Medevac had found him still coming down from having Gone White, and the arm was still stucking through his body, they'd left it in until they could verify it wasn't keeping his wound closed, or at least that they oculd close it themselves with the object removed and had not sent it for destruction when he was returned to the base. "You planning on hitting the tavern then? least that's how it sounds, I was thinking about it but I could sure as hell use an actual damn shower first, instead of one of those damn chem-sprays we get in field bases. Ugh . . . you feel dirtier after those than you did before you got in." He walked toward her, reaching out a hand to help her stand, not thinking she'd need it, just a gesture of kinship.
(15:13:21) KristineGreylight grinned at his words. The bit about the chemical showers was certainly true. They were almost a necessity though out in the field. The chemical sprays helped to kill any ambient bacterias or certain radiations. "I wasn't really planning on hitting the tavern but I suppose I could". Before taking his hand the wolf pulled her gun and slipped it in the locker with her armor. Than she turned to take his own hand and walked towards the door. " you may want to get some better cloths after your shower too" she commented with a chuckle
(15:17:27) Mikkaddo: He grinned after her. "And here I was convinced the girls thought scars were sexy . . . maybe I need to reconsider my priorities." He passed through the door too, and moved down the hall to the shared showers, one of the harder transitions for the military to accept was the co-ed showers, however, strangely, after a very short while, the soldiers stopped caring, especially in the field since most were too tired or shaken to be thinking about sex at such a time anyway, and most of the soldiers at a home base were more concerned with getting back into their casual fatigues and heading into town to get to the local taverns or brothels. But first, Mikkaddo needed a shower, a real shower, with hot water and soap.
(15:27:43) FW_Command: Wild Timber used Dig! It emerged from the ground! (Entered Channel)
(15:30:15) KristineGreylight kept pace with him down the hall to the co ed showers. Kristine had not been injured this time, luckily. She had her fair share of injuries but this mission had been kind to her. "Oh, chicks might dig battle wounds but med shirts are certainly not very flattering" she retorted. Kristine letting him go first into the shower. Her lips curled "if Jake is in there you better not drop the soap.". A small laugh following her. " you know he's still after your tail". Originally she had planned to hit her personal shower but since they were here already...
(15:39:02) Mikkaddo: he turned grinning as he was removing the med-shirt. "I guess I'd better not let him get to close anyway with this brand new hole in my chest, he might not be able to contain himself." He knew well about Jake, a good man, good soldier, but he didn't take very well to the word 'no' which could make things difficult, especially in the showers. He looked around and turned back to Kris "looks like he's already done, I don't see him around, oh but look . . . Sam's in here . . . guess neither one of us are truly safe." He chuckled, Sam was well known as a pansexual and had at one point or another shown a certain affection for both of them. Mikkaddo came to one of the showers, grabbing some shampoo from the shared shelf and started the long process, getting himself soaked and groaning a bit at the pain when the hot water hit the wound on either side of his chest, then soon the pain subsided and he worked the soap into his hair, lathering it up, it'd been far too long, he'd almost fogotten how good a shower could feel.
(15:57:15) KristineGreylight sighed at his statement. "Sam I can handle. It's Victor I'm none too funny and of". That man was a complete pain to Kristine. Following behind Mikk the wolf stripped out of her black tank top and support bra. The tight fitting fabric sliding away to reveal the ample c cups of the female wolf. Reaching to hook her pants she pushed them down with a wiggle of her hips. The wolfs wide hips swaying as she wiggled out. Kristines fur was marred with black patches across her back and sides. Some scars others remenants of the testing she had undergone. Some far more extensive then the other darks.
(16:02:37) Mikkaddo: He turned to face her once she was in the shower with him and gave a sigh. "Aye, he's a right bastard, honestly I've lost count of the number of times we've had to throw his ass back out, didn't they finally discharge his ass dishonorably for his bullshit?" he shook his head rinsing out the shampoo and trying to rinse out the wound as well. "You know that girl a year ago or so? the whore that wound up dead? there's more than a few that say he got himself drunk and tried to purchase her uh . . . services, said she looked a lot like you, gods only know she couldn't handle him like any of us could." he shook his head. "Men like that make the rest of us look despicable . . ." He nodded to Sam who grinned and winked at either of them in time. Then she spoke up "no, he's not gone yet, he was in here just a bit ago actually, bragging about how many locals he'd bedded already, just like the blackguard he always has been."
(16:15:52) KristineGreylight smiled to Sam and winkex back at her. Sam and Kris were two of only a handful of Dark females. Still Kristine sighed. "Believe it or not Victor is pretty involved with the R & D for the next gen Darks. Scary as that may be.". Kristine was more in the loop than the others but that info was not classified. Even most civvies knew they were developing gen 3 trials already. Victor had history though, few knew it but he had been a scientist exposed to the process by accident. The chemicals truly put him off balance, but he kept that killer intelligence. " Its a shame but most of the press is hidden. For now the military can't let them see us as monsters. So most anything is covered up. ". Kris remained with her back to the water, facing the other two. The hot water pushing that soft fur against the curved musculature of the warrior
(16:27:47) Mikkaddo: had to stifle a murr building in his chest watching the water flow over her body, the conversation was very serious, he couldn't afford to let anything else take over now, though, his body wasn't exactly helping him keep quiet about it. He turned himself a bit away to try and hide things, but Sam spoke up again with a grin. "Well Kris, looks like I'm not the only one getting excited, too bad I'm all done, bye bye you two . . . don't have TOO much fun without me, ok? bye dears!" and giggled softly as she left to towel off and be ready for the rest of her day. Mikkaddo cleared his throat and tried to continue with a more proper conversation. "Yeah, he's part of the Gen 3 research I know . . . I heard he's trying to make more women like us . . . have to wonder what his REAL reason for that is, then again, I think we both know it." He was having a harder time keeping himself from showing it now, right there with her, the water flowing through her fur and down her body, even the scars, the black marks that marred her form and matted her fur in patches seemed to be doing the trick for him, and he was struggling to stay on the subject without his thoughts racing back to something else, it almost felt like Going White in the midst of battle but, infinitely different as well.
(18:04:15) KristineGreylight chuckles and grins at Sam's words. Kristine reaching back to slap the woman's left cheek as she walked past, leaving a small red mark in her skin and making her squeal in a bit of surprise from the slap. "Naughty girl" Kris teased as she raised a brow and looked at Mikk. It wasn't like this was the first time they had been naked together. Still this was different. They were not in combat or in stress. She smiled a little at him and chuckled "Having a hard time over there soldier". Kristine was still scrubbing the soap into her fur. " yeah. Sadly there is little doubt what he means." She returned to the conversation at hand. There was more to it, but she wasn't about to tell him all she knew about victors accident.
(18:09:04) Mikkaddo: He nodded softly, refusing to admit to things. "Yeah, no one can be doubtful of his intention. Ah . . . you know Kris, you and I have always been a bit close . . . I like to think so anyway, sure Sam is a fun companion but sometimes a man wants something more . . . besides Sam's insatiable lust doesn't end at you or I . . . she's not picky at all. But you are . . . discerning, I like that." He had given up on the proper conversation, but then how did one move from a topic of distaste to something like what was on his mind? "You know, tavern girls are fun for a while but they're so . . . fickle, most of them are gone before you even wake and they don't care to remember your face OR name by the next day, fickle."
(18:34:21) KristineGreylight paused as he began to explain where his thoughts were going. Her smile faded with a sudden gravity at the implications of where this was heading. She was open and friendly with them sure, but at the same time there was so much more that she kept from all of them. Her ears flicked forward in a bit of surprise. "Mikkaddo." She spoke softly. "We are soldiers with a very short life expectancy. That's most likely why its hard for anyone to attach, or for us to attach to anyone." She spoke low. "That goes for me too.". Her head tilted to the side " I.. You are certainly my friend. My close friend. We've gone through so much together. There's so much you just don't know though." It was clear something heavy suddenly settled on her shoulders.
(18:39:26) Mikkaddo: He took a step, moving to share the running water with her, and moved a hand to hold her head up, facing him. "We've got no life expectancy left Kris, every day you and I keep going we beat the odds again . . . you and I both know if there's something worth having . . . it's worth holding onto with a grip strong enough to make sure it never goes away." He looked her straight in the eye his other hand moving to rest on her shoulder. "You know me better than anyone . . . you know I don't just love . . . you know I burn with fire like plasma . . . I know you do too . . . I don't see how it anything could be more fitting for someone like you or I."
(18:53:29) KristineGreylight blinked when he picked her head up and the wolf shook her head a little bit. "This is not the time for this, Mikk. Sorry." She spoke low. It wasn't a yes, nor was it a no. She just wasn't ready for that herself. Her tail flicked, dropping bits of water to the floor in a small arch. "Lets get to the tavern and have those drinks. I will rebandage your wound too. I'm sure the healing spray isn't completely done sealng it just yet."
(18:57:31) Mikkaddo: He was about to speak, when she told him, and his mouth closed instead, he simply nodded and shut the water off and grabbed a pair of towels, handing one to Kris. "Yeah . . . you do still owe me a drink for that incident on Muvolan Prime . . . I haven't forgotten." He decided it would be best not to pick at the fresh wound from her words, he knew she wasn't saying no, and well . . . it as very sudden. "No the spray hasn't sealed it, and besides that I'd wager the shower washed most of the spray out of me anyway . . . I'd almost dare say it'd be better to stitch it like the old days."
(19:39:38) KristineGreylight "Ah, yeah... Muvolan Prime." She said with a grn "Those were the days indeed." The wolf shook her head slowly and reached to turn the water off before throwing the towel around her. "I haven't forgotten either.." She spoke softly before licking over her lips. Fastening the towel over her body though she turned towards him and sighed. "Stitchs won't work well after a second shot of the spray. That serum I gave you will help too, if you still have it." Her ears folding back a little more. "Also, don't tell anyone about that."
(19:49:28) Mikkaddo: He nodded softly, he had known for a long time she had connections that went beyond anyone else in the Gen 1 groups, he'd always played the good soldier about it though, it's not like THAT was the worst secret the government had, especially considering how long they had all been a secret before the war got that desperate. "You know me, quiet as the grave when the time comes." He dried himself off, trying to think of how to keep things from being awkward now, he decided to settle on accepting it'd never be the same anyway and just moved on, trying to dry his hair as well as possible.
"well, with any luck we'll have more than a day's leave this time, gods know I could use a week or so to let this heal." He chuckled resting a hand against the wound, he'd not said anything earlier but as he went into the shower there was a light right behind him and he could see a hole in his shadow.
(20:10:48) (Bryce_Harrison) keyed the door open to the co-ed shower, grumbling softly. In stepped a fairly lithe canine, cream-colored chest with black shevron stripes on an orange back. His fur was trimmed short, of what could be seen from his boxers as he slipped into the shower with a simple cloth pack at his side, holding his washing supplies. He pauses at an unlocked, open locker, drops trucks and tosses them inside along with a few items, and closes it, nude with just his shampoo bag. At seeing the other two, he blinks, then turns aside and blushes slightly. "Ah-ahm..."
(20:23:20) KristineGreylight smirks and tilts her head to the side. "Come on you. Lets get this taken care of." She said as she walked towards his clothing and took the small vials out. Taking the cap off she pressed the small needle for the self infection against his shoulder. "Come on, a little of that fire water you like so much and you'll be back to yourself in no time." She said with a grin. "Besides, I want to see the size of that thing you had in you." Clearly she was trying to lighten the mood. Of course that may not have helped as Bryce entered the shower.
Both Kristine and Mikk had a towel wrapped around them. THough with the bashful look that the growlithe seemed to take she sighed and chuckled. "Going to need to get used to that in these showers" She teased. Kristine drawing her hand back as she tucked the empty vial away. "I'm not sure if we have met. Name's Kristine Greylight." Most soldiers would have heard or known of her at least. Very few gen 1 Darks were left. Mikk, Sam, Vic, and Kris were most of them. Perhaps another four left in service. The majority of the Darks were gen 2.
(20:28:05) Mikkaddo: He winced slightly when the needle went in, already having closed his eyes. Almost ironic really, that a warrior used to going into the jaws of hell to fight creatures a lot of people considered actual nightmares would be scared of needles, but such is the world. When he heard Kris talking to someone he looked, and couldn't help but grin, the man must have been green still to be blushing like a tomato at the co-ed showers. "Don't worry soldier, it'll wear off eventually, you get used to sharing the showers once you realize no one gives a damn and we're all more worried about cleaning up. We're going to the tavern for some drinks, incase you need some company after you're done."
He clutched his chest where the wound was, thinking about what Krisine said. "Why not ask him? he must have come through the main room . . . say, uh . . . what's your name? well, anyway, did you see the Carapce Arm in the main room? the Medevac guys were calling it my "trophy" thing was stuck inside me so hard it ripped off when I killed the commander it was attached to . . . would be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little proud."
(20:30:30) Timber: Timber had followed in bryce a little lost, he had just got here and the brute of a young wolf well was more lost than he ever was, they pointed him and his home, or what was left of it in his pack. He was just happy to see lights on and not getting shot at or bayoneted on a plasma shiskabob. He was still fithy from the modern equvilant of the alimo littarally getting hosed down before packed into fleeing cargo ships packed full of survivors. The "people in charge" where surpised that one marine made it back, well not an actual one but a concript he just got debrifed and any data he could give taken by the lone survivor. His armor was scorched and slashed and it didnt look like the wolf was groomed in months. He felt like the walking dead his eyes heavy as he just plops down on the nearest bench getting his equipment off. He did not care to be in the nude now with the only semi clean thing he had was his rifle. He kinda just makes a pile of "his crap" off to the side he looks at kriss and mik not knowing what the heck or who the heck anyone was since he was "out of the loop" he baraly earned the rank of private so he just assumed he was the low man on the totem pole. Before he was conscripted he was just a run of the mill lawman's deputy to a "small town" sherif. The almost defeated grunt definetly looked like he needed a shower and a couple pots of coffee almost bumping into the growleth person as he just turns the shower on and viggorously scrubs the dust off of his face with cold water. The only hint at the newguys name was the back of his helmet on top of his "pile of crap" was his rank and his name "timber"
(20:39:35) (Bryce_Harrison) blinks. "Ah, yes... Bryce, Bryce Harrison." He coughs. "Well, didn't think medical proceedures would take place in the showers." He shrugs. "Hot and moist for bacteria." He continues, moving a little closer. "We've all seen the opposite gender nude at least a few times at this point." He gives him grin, then shrugs. "I'm a Gen Two, nice to have the pleasure of meeting some of the survivors of the old crew." He shrugs, looking back to the wolf who had seen a lot, it seems. "I... we'll have to get you a proper room, soldier. We can work on that later, though." Seeing as how he wasn't in much of an introductory mood, Bryce turns back to Mikk. "I see that. I think they've got the video on repeat in one of the rec rooms when you got it. Some crazy sod video tapes everything and hakced into the server again!" He chuckles softly, shaking his head. "And, booze, you say? Well, I would love a few partners to ensure I don't wake up in the head again." He chuckles, heading into the showers. "Be there in thirty? Which Tavern?"
(21:11:39) KristineGreylight tilted her head a little at the marine that seemed to almost stumble in. Kristine shifted a little bit as she turned and smiled to Bryce. "Its nice to see your squadron is doing okay as well." Kristine spoke and grinned "I am hoping that you take us up on the drinks though. Swapping stories will be quite great." The wolf turning as she glanced at the marine. "Feel free to join us too Timber." She had caught the name on his helmet as well.
"Mikk, I'm going to change. I will meet you at the tavern." Kristine turned and stepped out. Stopping at the locker just to put some pants and a thin shirt on to make it back to her room.
(21:18:48) Timber: The conversation almost fell apon deaf ears he was just happy to be clean again though when alchol came up he spins around "yes... i need that" the wolf seemed so happy that this place had a bar, he hasnt seen a unbroken bottle in for too long "food and drink, not getting shot at that sounds like a good idea i could use that before i get tossed back into the meat grinder, cold rashions only do so much, do they let you pack a side arm around these parts i lost everything im not loseing my stuff" he starts checking over his pack seeming really attached fo his gear, though one wouldent blame him he lost his friends and not only his home but the whole station
(21:22:44) (Sasha) walked in wearing her uniform, eyed everyone in the room and headed for a locker without saying a word, her steps making no sound at all. She slipped out of her clothes, folded them and set them down in the locker, grabbing a towel and placing it around her neck. Her body was a thing of beauty, her muscles lythe yet sculpted and tense, the product of countless hours of rigorous work. The hyena headed to the showers, her eyes seeming to take note of every single detail in the room, a calm and confident atmosphere around her. She set her towel around the shower head and turned the hot water on, making sure to wait for it to actually come out hot before she walked under the water.
(21:29:53) (Bryce_Harrison) smirks slightly, looking to the wolf called Timber. "Mmm, there we go, the silent found his tongue." He chuckles, working off all the dirt and grime with a good portion of fur shampoo. He didn't hear sasha come in until the shower nearby jerked to life. He looks over to the woman, then back to work. After a bit, he was finished, shutting the spray off. "Must be a spook. Gen 2? What's your name?" He slips closer to Sasha, a Growlithe Hybrid with short-cut fur matted down from the water, filling in the gaps that fur normally covered on his slim, but built, physique.
(21:32:58) Mikkaddo: patted the wolf on the back. "Calm down Greeny, I'm about to get dressed and head down now, I'll show you the way. Just, try to calm down from now on, you're kind of uh . . . making a sundial there." He got to his own locker, dropping the wet towel and shaking himself dry the rest of the way, then put on a pair of clean fatigues and a tight black shirt. After finishing putting on his boots he strapped a pistol to his side and a knife to his leg then looked up having finally remembered what Timber said. "Yes, it's ok to be armed here, we all are after all."
(21:35:56) (Sasha) blinked and turned to face the larger canine, her paws moving up to run her fingers through her hair. "Sasha. Infiltration, assassination and sabotage specialist. Also recon if needed be. And yes, Gen 2." She gave him a nod and started to lather her fur, not even trying to hide her conflicting..."bits." "How about you?" She said, looking to the side at him while she continued to get her fur all soapy.
(21:44:03) KristineGreylight walked slowly down the hall to her room. Kristine hit the button on the door with her thumb and it slid open with a flash of blue light and a small chime. As the door parted the lights automatically flashed on and she went towards the back of the room. Like most military rooms on the base it was fairly barren in appearance. A standard bed, table, and built in screen against one of the walls. There was no personal touch to the room, thing that made it stand out. That was nothing but the strange display in the back. An old suit of armor, a sword hanging along the wall over it. There was also a few small pictures within the back of the room.
Kristine passed through the room to the small cloth covered screen, It took only a few moments but soon she was walking back out of the room. Kristine was wearing a simple blue top that hung off her shoulders and had a low cut across her neck. The sides were left slightly open. Her shorts were much the same too, coming down to almost the knee, tight fitting black material that had small slits in the sides to show of the muscles of her legs.
Quickly she left the room, closing the door behind her. A shadow seemed to move, and Kristine tilted her head. It had to be a play of the lights. Maybe she was simply that tired. Shaking her head she walked towards the tavern, the soldiers name for the bar on base.
(21:48:20) Timber: Timber seemed to crindge as a reflex as mik pats him on the back almost ready to start swinging, but then he remembered he wasn not back there, it was over for now, anyone who was paying attention could tell he was stressed and probably a little shell shocked, or maybe the lack of sleep, maybe a coctail he just towels himself off and looks at bryce "they said the magic word, or at last part of it, i havent seem so manny broken bottles of bourbon as i did back on my last post, tasted like it had glass in it too" the brute sighs as he puts his "uniform" back on still dirty though mostly intact, he clips on his old duty belt and starts pulling straps tightly on his pack and picks up his rifle quietly doing his chamber check varafing it was still unloaded and he starts pulling the bolt out to make sure it was wet with oil and then he pops it back together as if he did this all the time listening to the others talk, his ears turned to the last person talking but he just quietly dusted his rifle off looking around, everyone else seemed to have some sort of specail gen something and he desides to break his silence "well im timber, the designated marksman of foxtrot, least before the station was fried with plasma
(21:53:55) (Bryce_Harrison) nods to Sasha, smiing a bit. "Aaah, yes, a spook." He leans against the wall a bit and watches her face, though he have to look twice when his eyes drift. "Mmm, well, frontliner. Master of arms, with a little special to heat things up, if need be." That said, he inhales, then coughs, a small jet of flame billowing from his mouth, only to die quickly in the spray of water. He blinks as the wolf adresses him, smiling and nodding slowly. "Oi, you and me both, mate!" He then looks back to Sasha. "Well, we're all getting ready to head to the tavern. Meet us there when you're done." He smiles to her, then heads off to Timber, patting his shoulder. "Oh, ouch, man. that's... yeah.. Lets get you some booze, first round is on me. We'll meet the others there, they seem like a good solid crowd." He nudges the wolf on the shoulder. "We'll get you set up with a bunk first, though. No need to be doing all your firearm aftercare in a moist environment." He heads back to his selected locker and pulls out a towel, wiping the remainder off quickly, seeming to have the water evaporate from his fur. That done, he puts on his shorts again and waits for Timber before heading out to show him a bunk he could use, the previous owner also having met an unfortunate end.
(22:04:33) Mikkaddo: Mikkaddo had mostly ignored the spook, something he'd always done, he never liked most of them, just something seemed wrong when they were around. He couldn't place what it was, but something seemed wrong to him. He put his attention back to the wolf and the Growlithe. "Yeah, the Tavern's just down on the first level, bunks are on the second, shouldn't be too hard to find his, it'll have his name on the door, as well as his bunkmate. Privates are always bunked two to a room, officers get their own rooms, but you'll figure it out soon enough Greeny." He chuckled softly, checking himself before he left, everything was there, his wallet, his other items, his gun, his knife, his comm link, the item that Kris gave him.
"Well, I'm going to go meet Kris, feel free to join us once you guys get ready." His walk down to the Tavern didn't take long, since he wasn't stopping at his own room first it was just a tube ride down to the first level and then a journey down the halls to the Tavern following the lighted path. Once he got to the Tavern he noticed it was lively with activity, several missions had recently ended and more hadn't started yet so there were a good few soldiers winding down or turning up, lots of groups, singing, laughing, talking, and everyone drinking. He soon found himself a booth to sit at, but first he went to the bar and ordered a pitcher of the best beer in the house and a smaller bottle of the liquor Kris had first introduced him to on their first mission together. Then he went and sat at the booth, waiting for the rest of the group and turning down a few fickle Tavern Girls.
(22:21:42) KristineGreylight came into the tavern without much of an entrance. She stopped just at the door and smiled a little as she looked around. Mikk was sitting back in a corner booth and Kristine went towards him slowly. Those that noticed her and the dress of her seemed to take a step back and merely watch as she made her way to the table, taking a seat across from Mikk. "You remembered, thats rather nice." Her hand gesturing to the drink on the table.
As Timber and Bryce made their way towards the tavern, there would be another of the old guard. A large white wolf with stunning blue eyes staring at him. The white coat almost looked silly on the muscled wolf body, his name tag reading 'Victor Shane'. Those eyes staring at the growlithe. "Well hello there, Bryce wasn't it?" The man's smile was almost unnerving. His eyes were almost as if he was sizing up prey. "Enjoying a little down time flamer?"
(22:40:42) Timber: Timber locked up his rifle and pack in one of the lockers in his bunk, he kept his pistiol on his hip bit that was about it, timber stayed quiet like he often did after smileing at the sugestion of bryce buying him the first round of drinks, he followed him to the tavern takeing him up on the first drink right now the growleth was the closest thing to a friend he had at the moment so he definatly was loyal to him, timber was loyal to a fault and when the white suit started eyeing him the brute started sizeing him up, not only was he giveing his friend the stink eye but he was now standing between him and his free drink, timber did not take to kindly to people getting between him and a bottle of bourbon, and timbers body laungudge did all his talking and timber bladed his stance in a classic aggresive almost on guard stance found in boxing, however his hands where still at his sides (i assume they made it to the room then victor meets them) timber tended to be a defencive type probably since he didnt want to lose what little he had
(22:46:40) (Bryce_Harrison) snorts and waves Mikk off. "Alright, I'll help him get set up." He waves to Mik, giving him a one-fingered salute and a grin, then gives him a wave. That done, he leads Timber to their quarters, dresses properly in casual fatigues and an old Dessert Eagle at his hip (He was, after all, more than capable of causing serious burns on his own), then meets up with Timber again to head down the tube to the tavern. As they were on the way, the white coat makes him pause, especially at the name. "Mmmm, yes?" He pauses, glancing to Timber with a bit of a questioning look, then back over to Victor. "Was gonna grab a few drinks at the tav, yes, why, what's up?"
(22:55:14) Mikkaddo: He grinned when Kris mentioned the liquor and a waitress came by with a pair of glasses with 2 completely clear ice cubes in each glass, and Mikk pulled the cork out of the bottle, and poured the dark red liquor into the glasses. "I hear it tastes even better when it's cold" which, he knew she'd recall, is exactly what Kris told him the first time they drank it, thinking they would die, just taking swigs one after another from a warm bottle in the middle of a deserted base, the final survivors hoping the monsters were all dead or gone by then. It was their last moment, their last drink, and now they were having it again, in a tavern, surrounded by others who'd probably lived through the same or worse. "Where's the rest of them? you don't think Sam found them and decided to "break in" the greeny do you?"
(23:07:24) KristineGreylight smirked at Mikk's comment about Sam. "A treat for him if that is the case. He looked pretty rough though so it might just be taking him that long to relax and shower well." She replied. A small grin forming on her lips. "Yeah, I remember it well. One of the last pushes that drove the aliens back. It took everything we had.." She replied. "Couldn't believe this was laying about the base." She lifted the glass. "To more moments." She said with a grin.
Of course at that very moment the big white wolf chuckled at Timber. "You brought a puppy too. How quaint. Is he a recruit for gen 3 testing?" Those blue eyes turned solidly towards Bryce. The growlithe was his main interest. Thoughts.. thoughts filling the growliths mind. Images of people in tubes, people that almost seemed to be GROWING the armor out of their body.
(23:16:11) (Bryce_Harrison) snorts, puffing out a bit of flame through his maw. "Naw, man, we're just heading to the tavern, give him a break. He says he's a lone survivor from a station." He looses focus as the images enter his mind, shaking his head, mentally fighting back to establish a barrier, being one of the few things that was taught first. "Nice parlor tricks, though most people ask before they clog someone else's mind. What gives?" He tries to establish the barrier, to view the mental images on his own terms. He was well trained, but it was still just training, and a natural would be able to out-maneuver him in mental challenges, given enough time.
(23:22:17) Timber: Timber was a classic hot head, probably too stuborn for his own good, tottaly clueless what his partner was going up against mentally, timber himself probably had more skull than brainmatter anyways, bryce probably knew timber was already half cocked as if ready to start lundgeing at the man in a white suit standing between him and his bourbon "dont threaten me with a good time" he mumbles to himself not likeing the whole pup calling. Timbers idea of useing his head was well useing his head as a battering ram....
(23:28:57) Mikkaddo: lifted his glass and clinked with Kris. "To more last stands, and miraculous survivals . . . we've made it this far, and I don't see an end to the road yet" and then he drank, a rush of memories overflowing his mind for an instant that felt like forever. The base, the blood red setting sun, the smell of oil and plasma fire and the sick sticky scent of the alien blood clinging to the air like a plague. The two of them, wounded, exhausted, starving and both bleeding, in the bombed out remains of the armory, drinking from the bottle one after another telling stories to try and pass the time until they died or were saved. Part of him wished to be back in that moment, another part was glad it didn't end that way. "Say, you don't think HE found them do you? I can only imagine what he'd want with a pair of Greenies but you never know . . . Gen 3 testing hasn't really started yet, at least as far as they'll admit."
(23:36:31) KristineGreylight sighed a little bit and shrugged her shoulders a little bit. "There is no telling. Bryce wouldn't be able to go through Gen 3 testing, as you know. Its too unstable to try and re engineer someone more then once." Her tail flicked "But I promise you, its started. Rumors like the project don't get out until almost the last stages. It has always been that way.." The wolf leaning back after taking a sip of her liquor and setting it down. "Its rather lively tonight."
Victor raised a brow. The images had not been intentally sent to Bryce. THe wolf was just... over excited for some reason. He grinned though. "Your training is very good. One of the most impressive this program has yet to produce." Victor smiled. His sharp teeth gleaming as he glanced at Timber "Oh, don't worry little wolf. You're really not my type.." His eyes turning back to Bryce. "Be seeing you" One might wonder if that was a threat as he turned and walked off.
(23:42:51) (Bryce_Harrison) grumbles softly, setting the barrier successfully, getting the name from his tag, for sure. Definitely a story to tell, for later. "Mmm, goodie goodie. I always liked being the famous one." He grumbles, not particularly fond of people knowing about the Charlie designation after his Gen two. First it's the thought reading, and then they want him to dig into the lady's panty bin, very disgusting. "Get lost, man. Don't ruin a night like that. Some of us just wanna relax. C'mon... Timber, lets go." He stomps off towards the bar, REALLY in the mood for a bottle, himself, but he'd likely not. he still doesn't drink that much. Not wanting to have any sort of major hiccup and lose control of his abilities amongst everyone.
(23:52:28) Timber: Timber watches the guy leave for a bit and sighs "oh ok..." he stomps off behind bryce and fetches a bottle of borbon for himself and sips from it quietly "who was that guy and whats he think hes up too? Is that how they treat new guys? If bryce wasnt there id probably be discharged" he mumbles all grunpy wolf slurping bourbon down trying to calm his nerves, boy he drank that stuff like it was tea
(23:55:40) Mikkaddo: Mikkaddo had a grin on his lips when Bryce and Timber came to the table. "Boys, about damn time, almost thought you'd both been taken by the spooks!" an excited tone to his voice, clearly the meds to seal up his wound and the good alcohol he and Kris were already drinking was playing hell with his head. His thoughts raced and spun, uncontrolled except when his eyes caught with Kris' memories and fantasies mixing until it was hard to tell them apart, and impossible for Mikkaddo's mind to keep to himself. "You should both sit down and get a drink, relax a bit, no one's at war here, we're all here to relax and loosen up, right Kris?"
Kristine was not hitting the bottle near as heavy as Mikkaddo seemed to be. Of course she wasn't in near as much pain as he was either. Her eyes turning towards Timber and Bryce as they came walking towards the table. A friendly smile greeted them and the wolf bowed her head towards the pair. "Good of you to join us." She spoke up and scooted her chair around to give both of the boys a little more room to move in around the table. "We were worried the shower might have taken a little too much out of you guys." It was a joke and clearly accented by her playful chuckle.
Yet the strangely somber look on their faces made her tilt her head. It was a curious look upon the anthro wolf. Her tail flicking slightly back "Are you two okay? You both look a little... disturbed." She wasn't sure that was the right word, but it was the only one she could think of for the look. "Sit down, we can get another bottle if you would both like?" Not that timber had not already gotten something of his own.
Bryce slumps into the seat at the table, smirking. "Eh. Some guy named, what was it, Victor? Lab coat and badge, wanted to harass us a bit, apparently. Seems a bit of a headcase, got some bad vibes from him." He shows the effort to poke his own temple to emphasize the point. He flags down a waitress for some booze, a shot of bourbon, and a large beer to enjoy afterwards. "And, maybe when I'm finished, I'll have what you're having. Looks new and interesting." He takes his shot when it arrives, then goes to sipping his beer.
The wolf was well wolfing down bourbon like a dry sponge his ears perked up at the shower joke and he darts his eyes over to her about to say something but of course bryce beat him to the words, timber never was the kind to beat people on the draw of the tounge, he talked low, slow, and not often. Though the funny thing about the man of few words was he could say a lot without haveing to say a word. The name "victor" gave the thirsty wolf pauce and he gives an agressive grunt, and then goes back to enjoying running up his new best friends tab and draining a nice bottle of bourbon "thanks for letting me drink with you guys. Its nice to be able to cool my heels, course i have no idea where im going from here honestly, dont think we have much left of that sattalight bace i was stationed at, last i hired we sent a team to the core to detonate it with a bomb of some sort, we welded the door shut and drew off the dirtbags with hit and run attacks. Hopefully theres nothing important on that station its gona be a pile of irradiated slag soon" he chuckles "but what do i know im just a drunk marine"
Mikkaddo was still drinking and then he suddenly gripped his chest where the wound was, and groaned hard, blood seeping through the bandages and he suddenly gripped the table with his hand hard enough to crack it a bit where his hand was. Then he shot his face up, eyes wide then closed.
It seemed like it was hours for him, but couldn't have been more than seconds, no one would notice in the crowded bar full of soldiers except for those sitting with him, and even they shouldn't be surprised by what was clearly a very drunk soldier having a sudden turn of luck until he opened his eyes again and was panting, he looked at Kris and then the others and slowly leaned back in his chair. He felt immediately sober again, as though he hadn't touched a single drop in days. He didn't know how to say it even, but he decided not to say anything at least for the moment about it. He remembered something about a sattelite and a bomb, and focused on that instead. "Uh yeah, the X8R20V, codenamed the XRover right? I remember that mission, went off without a hitch the way I heard it. You were a part of that?"
He decided to leave the sudden sobering alone, as well as the burning pain in, what he could only assume, was the newly made hole in most of his abodomen, bad enough the drugs mixing with the liquor made him drunk as shit, apparently the liquor was seeping out of his stomach through some hole ripped into it and was burning up the wound, cleaning it sure, but still burning like hell.
Kristine caunted her head to the side with a curious little gaze at Mikk. She had known him well enough to know when something happened. More so she knew the difference between him sober and him drunk. Still since he had chosen not to say anything she would leave it alone. Her eyes glancing back at Timber.
"Honestly it wouldn't have mattered if there was something important. Command would rather destroy anything important than to let the enemies have it." She commented. Once more looking up at Mikk. "And without a hitch may just mean it exploded. Command can mess the little details.. like the marines lost or the lives that are affected by the feirceness of the battle." She frowned a little. It was clear Timber had been through quite a rough patch of fighting by the look of him.
It was Bryce that drew her attention lastly though. "Victor.." She seemed to take a deep breath. "Don't mess or joke lightly about him." Her tone hushed, she obviously did not want anyone to hear what she was saying. "Hes sharper then most, one of the few sci-tech darkies." Her tail flicked "And hes dangerous.. If I were either of you I would just try to avoid him. Normally science keeps him pretty tied up."
Sitting back in her chair she grinned though and lifted her glass. "And yeah, this is a hard thing to come by. Its made from the rich red fruits of the Kaldrus planet." She spoke with a smile. "Hard to come by."
Bryce flags down a waitress/waiter to start a tab for the table and get another bottle, if available, of Kris and Mikk's drink of choice. "Eh, one of those last resort things that's always done. Always a shame to be on either side of one of those." He drains the rest of his beer, then leans back, relaxing in his seat, digesting Kris' info on Victor, as he looks at Mikkaddo, a bit concerned for him, with all the blood he seems to be putting out. "I do think Victor might be taking an interest in me, though." He shrugs, chomping on a few bar nuts.
The wolf polished off his bottle and was enjoying a warm meal. It was just a regular cheeseburger nothing to expencive or fancy but it tasted so good compared to the "borrowed" cold rations pulled out of bloody rubble of the rubble of the sattalite he was born and raised on, this was the first time on an actual plannet. "Yeah i was part of the team that secured the bomb and escorted the package to the mineshaft, the sherif whent down with the bomb after giveing me his badge, i welded the door shut and lead the fireteam out of that death trap" he paused for a moment after wolfing down his burger it was like a week ago when he was given this task. The reason anyone got out of there alive when command was overun. Timber had patrolled the streets as a deputy and his handyness with a service rifle. "Yeah probably the best call to destroy it before they got there hands on anything usefull, and it probably put a big dent on the invadeing forces, kinda strange they brought a whole armada for one lousy little place, we gave em hell for only haveing one brigade of marines and our local millita, might as well be shooting spitballs at em with our outdated obital defence systems, there was so manny of them it was like shooting pistiol at a locust swarm, the main cannon started to over heat within half of an hour of non stop fireing . "Hopefully one day after this is all over our story lives on, we where a proud bunch.... though the victory came at a high price everything we had" timber was quite sad that he basically lost his home, the equivilant of a whole country lost to the enemy. "I just want to get back out there and pile up as much bodys as wolfishly possible.... id like to at least know how manny of them we got before we resorted to nukeing the place and how effective the blast was, i didnt get to watch the blast from the cargo bay i was stuffed into but the shakeing was quite satisfying, but my thirst for blood is still there, or whatever those bastards leak when you fill em full of lead" timber looks back to kriss after she mentions victor "yeah he seemed to have a hard on for bryce, though i doubt a white suit would of been able to stop me from a much needed bottle of bourbon" timber kinda was cocky after he got hammered probably the only time someone could loosten his lips. "So... whats our next move, i think im stuck here with you guys less they tell me otherwise"
Mikkaddo took another drink from his glass, cringing slightly and subtly resting a hand on Kris' arm. He knew she was worried about him, she always worried about him, especially after that sunset they survived together. He cringed again at the name. "Stay away from him . . . he gives me the shakes, and not even the thing that gave me this new "pocket" made me shudder . . ." He looked at Timber, listening to his story about the Satellite and the bomb.
"We're all 'stuck' here until we get further orders . . . until we're needed again." He looked up as the waitress came to the table and Bryce ordered more drinks, he waved his hand when Bryce mentioned what he and Kris were drinking, he knew one more glass would probably be all he could take and Kris was not likely to chug it, he'd never known her to be that kind of drinker. "I do wonder when our next orders will come through . . . maybe we'll . . .- his words were cut off by him gripping his chest where the wound was suddenly, he leaned forward and fell to the side, out onto the floor.
The door burst open and a pair of soldiers in white uniforms rushed in, ignoring the patrons and the rest and grabbed Mikk, who tried to push them off at first but then the pain took him and he let them pick him up. A moment later, a third person in a white uniform, clearly an officer came through the door and went directly to the table of Kris and the others. He looked directly at Kris and said "we need to take your squad mate to the med bay again, he was not cleared to leave, but was . . . forceful . . . we will release him once he's ready, in the mean time if you need to you will be able to visit him as soon as the procedures to detox him are done, we can't be sure what he's done to himself since we tried to help him." He looked at the table, "clearly he's not been keeping pure in the last few hours . . ." then he turned and promptly left, without even a goodbye. Curt and brief, the hallmarks of the med officers.
Kristine leaned some as she watched Mikk. He was worse off then he had made it out to be. It was clear that the damage was far greater and that made her raise a brow. She worried, she always worried. It was about that time the med officers came rushing in to collect the wayward patient. Kristine's eyes darting to the two men and their commanding officer. Her maw parted as if to say something but she only sighed and nodded. Kristine making a calming motion towards Bryce and Timber. "Its not the first time, stubbornness runs in our blood." She said as a mild joke and blaring truth. "Take good care of him." She offered with a nod towards the med team.
Glancing back to Timber and then to Bryce she sighed softly. "He does that more often then you would think. They will take good care of him, we can't afford to lose someone like him." It was sadly the truth and the main reason they needn't worry yet. Mikk was far too experienced and good a warrior to let die, they would patch him up well.
"Sorry you had to go through what you did young wolf. You have more skill and courage then most." She smiled to timber and then looked towards Bryce. She watched him curiously. "Its not a good thing to garner his interest, though honestly that makes me a bit curious myself." She said with a little chuckle. "Victor doesn't notice people lightly."
Bryce looks to Mikkaddo and nods slowly. "I'll try, but I think he'll still seek me out, for one reason or another." Bryce can't help but lick his lips at the smell of hot food, though the story, and drinks, keeps him occupied for now. "mmm, rough, man. Submit that badge to, well, someone to get that guy honored, if you haven't alread-" He looks over to Mikkado as he falls over and onto the ground. He was about to get up, but then the medical team showed up to take him away. He shrugs at the comment about alcohol, taking a drink of his own. "Charcoal, that'll work." He then looks to Kris. He reaches and takes Mikk's drink, finishing it off, only to make a bad face and scrape his tongue on his teeth. "Mmm... wonderful. Might as well bring the circus and sign me up, they'd take me in a heartbeat, I'm sure." He takes their bottle and sloshes the remainder around of now-Kris' wine "Any more? I'm thinking food would be a good idea at this time. Food and some rest."
Timber did not know what was going on other than mikkaddo was down and guys in "a different uniform" was grabbing him the brute of a wolf's first responce was to find "the biggest/scarryest" guy in the group and pick him up by the collar of his shirt and shake him silly... but then he noticed they where there to help and he had two guys trying to restrain him to no avail it was all going to timbers plan up to the point he felt a jolt of electricity to his back of his neck. He drops to his knees slowly thru the pain as if trying to fight the energy surgeing thru his body. "That auta keep him" the guard was cut off by timber trying to get back up again and this time tazed by the three guards and left on all fours mikk was probably escorted away by now and they left timber on the floor huffing and puffing. The beast still had the spirit to get up stumbleing to his feet and flop on the table mumbleing about murdering em with his fists
Mikkaddo wasn't quite sure what had happened, he remembered the bar, he rememberd drinking, saying some stupid things while maddeningly drunk trying to drown at least several kinds of pain at once, and then things got blurry and he woke up in a hospital bed, strapped down by wires and, well, leather straps. He looked around, noticing the machines beeping and buzzing and a little blue electrical eye on a thin stalk connected to a track in the ceiling. It was looking directly into his own eyes and he suddenly heard a tinny voice in monotone saying. "Doctor, the patient is awake, should I administer more suppressants?" Another voice could be heard a second or so later, and with it the eye turned on it's track and traced it's way toward the door.
A doctor came in, sighing deeply and shaking her head, writing something on a clipboard before looking at Mikk. "Honestly man, 15 assaults, 3 suicide missions, one of which you and Kris were both left for dead until the two of you somehow rigged up a last ditch SOS, AND a front line assault by a commander and you almost do yourself in with LIQUOR?" she seemed disgusted at him, and it took a moment for him to remember why she would be. Then it hit him, like he wasn't even able to connect the word liquor to any memory until it all suddenly returned. "Yeah well, what can I say? war is hell . . ."
The doctor shook her head moving around to sit on a stool on the opposite side of his bed. "Yes, some war . . . I heard there was even a scuffle, some new greenie got all up in arms over you . . . boyfriend?" Mikkaddo growled softly toward her and she laughed. "Relax big boy, besides, you're not getting out of those." she pointed to the straps holding him down, he looked at them too, not really connecting the dots again until he realized he wasn't going anywhere until he was actually healed this time. "You're not running off again, I'm seeing to that personally . . . and even if those DO fail . . . we've got the M.O.U.S. watching over you."
The eye blinked and faced him again saying "Medical Observation Unit Servo 3, at your service." Mikkaddo chuckled softly, his brain finally coming back. "Mouse . . . cute, where's Kris? is she here? I want to see her . . ." The doctor mocked being shocked by his words. "You don't want to see the rest of your new crew? you didn't hear? the 4 of you are shippping out soon! it's all in the orders you received, digi-sheets naturally, all it says is something about a missing team and your team going to find them, apparently it's 'classified'" she said making finger quotes and speaking sarcastically. "Besides, she'll be along, now that you're CONSCIOUS we might just let you have visitors . . . unless you . . . oh, Doctor, I didn't know you were on his case." She said, suddenly looking pale.
A white wolf with a severe edge to him and a dark grin on his face walked in and leaned against one of the near walls, and chuckled. "Oh, I'm not on his case . . . just came by to see how the Anomoly is doing." He looked at Mikkaddo. "That's not funny . . ." the wolf growled.
"Oh relax boy . . . you know it comes from a place of love." He put his hands over his heart and Mikkaddo made a play of pulling at his restraints. "Now now, you're not getting out, that's what we have the restraints for, oh, and the MASSIVE dosage of sedatives, your friends will come to see you soon, but remember . . . I'm always watching, I have plans for at least one or two out of your group . . . interesting lot the four of you are." he sauntered out of the room, the other doctor visibly shuddering.
Kristine blinked a little at Timber and shook her head. "No need to get so worked up, they were just trying to help him." She reached over to pat the wolf's back before looking back towards Bryce. He had started to drink a little more and she wondered about that honestly.
Either way Kristine sighed. "I would not worry too much about Victor for the night." Her tail curled around beside her and she slowly stood. "Though I do think I need to get some rest. It was nice to meet you both and I do look forward to seeing you again." Kristine turned and walked from the room. Her movements were slow and graceful and her hips swayed so with each step. She was strong but ever so sensual as well.
Her first stop was to check in with the medical division and get a report on mikk. He was still under restraint so she left and headed back to her place. As she slipped into the room she didn't even bother to turn the light on, stripping down and falling into her bed to close her eyes. She didn't even see the message on her console in the other room. She would no doubt catch it in the morning.
Bryce snarls and growls to the medical team as they rough Timber up, helping pull him back up to the table so they can try to salvage the night. "Yeah, I suppose. He wasn't as good to leave if they have to drag his ass away, but..." He shrugs, finishing off the rest of the drink in short order. "Yeah, was nice to meet you, Kris. Will surely be seeing you more often before we deploy again." He watches her head home, thumb tracing against the glasses he had on the table. He coughs, then slowly sits up again, looking to Timber. "Lets relax a bit more before we head off. Enjoy the tab before paying it off and heading up." He offers a small smile to Timber, pushing him the last of the booze from the table to finish off. "Come on, down the hatch." He smirks, giving himself some time to relax.
Timber was a slump of sizzled fur for a couple minutes when the team left him alone after he couldent take any more of the electrical battons... he huffs as he comes back and sits up twitching a bit, he might of gave pursuit if the growlth wasnt bribeing him with bourbon and more booze, "yeah i supose your right" he needed to take that edge off, might help him with the mussle spazzams he had. He really had nothing better to do but drink and wait, maybe till he needed to be dragged out back to his barraks. "I just want to go back and stack brass and bodies" he mumbles
The sun gradually set outside the window Mikkaddo watching it, the drugs were flowing through him and machines were taking turns working on his wounds and in his veins. Time seemed to speed up, watching the sun go down, people pass outside the room, he felt completely numb though. A side effect, one he couldn't stand. He never liked being numb, he'd always thought that feeling pain meant you were alive, it'd always been true for him so far, being numb was what he thought being dead must be like. Everything changes, but you don't feel any of it. No wonder the dead were always angry when they finally woke up again.
He saw someone pass the door, they stopped for just a moment, but they soon left, was it Kris? had it been her? COULD it be her? she was gone too fast to know. So he just closed his eyes, and for once, gave up. Sleep came to him, at least eventually, when he woke up again though the sun was already up, he could tell because the light from the window was so goddamn bright. There was someone in the room with him now, and with the bright light burning into his eyes he couldn't tell who it was or why there were there, another side effect, being nearly deaf, no one knew why it worked that way on Anthros, but somehow it always effected the ears, drained the fluid or made the muscles near the eardrum swell so it couldn't vibrate, something.
