The event is winding down, though it's still going at this current moment. And I want to thank everyone who's made that happen. Was a bit dodgy at first, but we certainly got into things fairly easy. So this little post is to get your feedback on this.
If you all enjoyed this, and I'd say six hours of roleplaying probably means that you have, then this is the kind of thing I am up to hosting often!
We did have a few hiccups tonight. But a lot went much more smoothly than we ever could have hoped for. What did you like about it? What didn't work well for you? Are there any suggestions you have? Or maybe different games/settings you'd enjoy?
If this is something people would like to attend once or twice a month, we can make it happen, but we need to know that attendance won't be an issue. Please sound off with your ideas and feedback, so we know that this is something you guys want more of!
Enjoying myself more tonight than I have in many a night prior, but more rules/setup should be made to deal with situations that have cropped up while playing, instead of having everyone on different pages as things change throughout the night; not to say that things can't be loosened up, but just some general standards to hew to. Spinning the bottle before moving on to your dare, for example, and setting hard time limits before someone gets skipped because they haven't responded (as in to the initial query, not as in they're taking time to type their action). Skipping anyone still involved in a dare was a good idea, and should be standard; that way we get more people involved, instead of one person getting gangbanged, like Timber was. Normally when doing a ToD, only the people not involved in a dare sit in the circle around the bottle to begin with, so that one made the most sense to me; keeps the most people actively involved, after all, which deals with "too-large group syndrome".
I agree with skipping those currently involved, to some extent. If the group is small, and the dare is small, multitasking is possible. Especially if we're doing truth and dare!
As for rolling before doing a more involved dare, absolutely. I encouraged that a bunch tonight, but we should absolutely keep that up, as that keeps things running without making people feel like they've got to detract from their post when things become more involved.
@Everyone: Any thoughts on similar types of events, or possibly additions to this one in the future?
Also, reminder that next Saturday another event like this will take place. If highly sexualized content all night isn't your thing, the Whodunnit might be! It will be a murder mystery, it will also reward raffle points.
However, that event takes a bit more forethought. I've got to know who's going to be there, so I can assign characters. So please please please sign up for the event if you plan to attend at all.

That's exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about- just getting everyone on the same page so things will go the smoothest. How do we define a small dare, exactly? I'm godawfully slow to type right now, for example, so everything is going to take forever and a day with me, while many others can pump out a post just fine. Do we define it against the target's capabilities like that, or do we compare it by a general "an average person can do this easily" standard? Or is it just an "if the dare doesn't involve being preoccupied for more than a few posts" deal? What's the standard that you want to apply there, exactly? And, as before, not saying that these are hard and fast rules, just guidelines.
