Title: To start: Artwork
Post by: Leithri on September 12, 2010, 10:16:36 PM
I suppose this section needs a first post. Very well, I'll begin it by sharing some of my creative efforts. All of my images will be links, since they're all large. I'd love to hear any comments or critique you may have.

Though it pains me to have to use a word used by so much terrible non-art, I tend to make abstract images. Some of my favorites are this (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/pictures/First%20Home/No%20Longer%20Deprived.jpg) set (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/pictures/First%20Home/No%20Longer%20Restrained.jpg) of (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/pictures/First%20Home/No%20Longer%20Seperated.jpg) four (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/pictures/First%20Home/No%20Longer%20Troubled.jpg). That being said, I very often branch into other subjects (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/pictures/Carribean%20Planet.jpg), styles (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/silver%20tape.png), and techniques (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/pictures/freeman%20cel.jpg). I've recently had access to a tablet (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/more%20practice.jpg), so I've been learning how (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/tablet%20flower.jpg) to use it. I like it quite a bit; it makes some (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/f/skeleton%20practice.png) things much easier (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/f/poses.png).

Anyway, I suppose I'll give you what you've all been waiting for: My best furry picture (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/f/tablet_practice.jpg).

Awesome, that's pretty good stuff.  I'd use one of those abstract works as my desktop background if I didn't think it would make me go blind with how bright it is.  :p

Heh, I just recently got a tablet too. But I pretty much suck at it since I've been using MS paint for like.. a year. X3 Allthough, thats some pretty badass stuff. Permission to use one as a background?

No, because you stole my name! *Giggles* Just kidding. Of course you can. Do anything you want with them, except pass them off as your own.

Do you mean the starburst-like one, Sabata? Is this (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/pictures/First%20Home/No%20Longer%20Restrained%20L-.jpg) better?

I love abstract!  :3  Well, maybe it's not abstract.  But compared to what I do, it's very abstract.  x3  In any case, I really like it!  Your work is really interesting (the motion series with the stick figures was really cool).  Keep it up, Miss Lei-Lei!

Thank you, Amina. A few days after I created the stick figures, I noticed that with a small bit of tweaking, they almost formed a kind of loop (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3713769/web/f/poses_loop.png).

Can other people post their arts? If so-

That'd be practice for drawing fluffy girls.

Sure, this could turn into the general art thread, if that's how everyone wanted it.

What did you draw that in?

I draw most of my stuff with MS paint. Right now I'm playing around a little bit with Corel Painter 4.0, but its really not the program I need.
