So I've had this idea for a while that I have been playing with. I've giving a lot of thought about. So I figured I'd post is and see how many people are interested. It's a Modern Fantasy with a twist!!
History Thus Far:
Somewhere During the Roman Age, where men themselves Started to Form there cities. Man themselves became jealous of the Ancient Races. So humanity as a whole united to fight against them, Though there was a few who did not and fought to preserve their lives and Culture.
Hundreds, thousands of lives were lost in this Exodus of battle. The Elves and dragons sought deep into the future and saw their eventual lost to humans. So the most powerful wielders of magic of each of the ancients gathered to work great magic. They Ripped a Rift in space itself where they made a mirror world of earth itself. Those that survived went fourth into this rift, To live in this new world. But the ancient races did not see it fit to leave humanity with such powerful magic's. They drained Earth of every last drop of mana transferring it into this new world.
Last to walk the rift where those humans who fought alongside the ancient races. Little did they know how humans would be affected by the rift. Twisting them into something more...
Mechanics of the world:
I wanted to create a world where both magic and technology exists. The easiest way to do that is to create two worlds. If you could, imagine two earths Rotating against each other like Cogs. One holding the magical properties. And the other one much like our own to this very point in time. However to make this works there is only a few simple rules all players should know about. They are as listed:
1. Electricity nullifies magic
Do to electromagnetic current the workings of electricity nullity's most magic. So transporting battery's and other electronics makes it impossible to get in to the magical realms. However that does not mean you can't for instance take a pair of night vision goggles and run it on magic.
And working magic on earth is Very difficult, for a mage to hold a lighter size flame for more than a minute Is very, Very Taxing.
2. Gun powder is not allowed in the magical realm.
Do to the Alchemical properties of gunpowder, It is to dangerous to take into the realm of magic. Gunpowder itself naturally absorbs magic making it more effective.
Example:
9mm bullet, Five minutes will make it explode like a hand grenade, 1 hour like a mortar round. More than a day like a nuclear bomb.
Do to its unstable nature and almost random Explosion. It has been banned from the magical realm.
3. The only way to travel to each realm is only at night, and only accompanied by a "Night stalker"
Night Stalkers are their own group; they hold no ties to anyone but their own organization. To be able to freely pass between Realm's is an innate ability that must be trained. You are either born with it or not. Do to their ability they cannot work any type of magic. Thus they train to increase their skills and abilities. Think of them as Mercenary's for hire, who just happen to do trade goods as well. are Guides for those who wish to travel into other realms and such.
Since the world rotates like a cog two giant cogs, Only at night are the worlds close enough to travel. Think of earth and the realm an exact mirror of itself.
4. I've Always had a problem with Anthromorph's being to powerful giving natural weapons and armor scent and such and decided they need a little draw back. This idea came from "the monster with in" or the "Beast with in" so to speak.
So all anthromorphs start out as humans, its loosely based on humanity really. The more inhuman one becomes the more of the beast or monster one becomes. Thus the more atrocity's one commits or witness's Forced to witness the more attributes one gets. Really it's up to the player how fast one becomes an Anthro. I leave that open for you for creative purposes. But in good sport I will give an example as fallowed:
Atrocitiy's: Committing murder, being a good soldier, witness to a murder.
Result: animal like eyes, increased sense of smell, claws
By that I think you get the idea. However it is possible to become a full anthro and keep ones humanity. Though be for warned, it should be tough to try and keep ones humanity. However if you do become a full Anthro and choose not to care about ones humanity. You will become a bloodlust mindless beast who cares for nothing but blood. One must work constantly in order to keep ones humanity.
5. This magical Realm Has 20 kingdoms all ran by different races. I have not decided how they are divided. But they inter trade with each other.
Current Plot:
A devious dis-satisfied cult are slowly taking over the kingdoms. Getting into positions of power. There overall goal is this. To merge the two worlds back together. The magic of this world merging with Earth should set off all bombs guns in one glorious apocalypse.
It is the night Stalkers out in. Every year night stalkers explore both worlds looking for new talent to train.
What I am looking for:
I am looking for adventurous characters in All roles. Though I am only looking for 4 People to play. Any more than that is too much for me to handle. My Story is going to be a Dark Twisted one. Full of plot twist and pain. I'm looking for People who like battle as well as investigate to help drive the story forward. I'm looking For people who will interact with each other, and tend to stay Group Focused as well as developing their own plot. Generally I'm looking for players who can give me at least a paragraph most of the time. And hate one sentence posts.
