Yeah, a school for people who dabble in magic.
Nothing much but a basic idea or two.
Though some rules to help make it a little more interesting then "fwoosh I win".
1. No prodigies.
2. Any magic type (self titled made and named to something you saw in a game/show/book once.)
3. Experience brings age. (the more powerful the person, the more older they will be.)
4. Immortal students are not allowed.
I'm looking to make this a student based rp, with the teachers being in the background (possibly NPC.), though I am open to anyone wishing to be a teacher or two if they have a character that would work (Immortals, vampires, ageless elves, ect are accepted in these positions.).
Throw down your support or give me a character sheet if your interested.
Name: Norana Delain
Age: 20
Species: Bunny
Magical Ability: Necromancy
Brief History:
Norana blinked a bit as he looked around him before looking back down to the reason he had stopped in the first place....a dead body, a mage it looked like but he couldn't tell really. Looking around again making sure no one was around, he dragged the body off of the dirt road and into a wooded area so that he would have a bit of privacy. You see Nora had recently came upon a rather interesting book you see....a book all about Necromancy...not really but it gave some pointers on what to do. Now being a bunny he was naturally excited about this, his first ever attempt at an actual resurrection! Oh what fun he would have...perhaps they would become good friends or maybe companions on an epic quest for cookies and pie! Mmmmm I love pie. Shaking the thoughts from his mind he knelt down next to the body and opened up his book, the young male looked through the pages as he took out his knife and began to preform the necessary ritual to bring the body back to life but! Oh he skipped a step without meaning too and thus...the body did not come back...well...more like explode right in his face in a big gush of blood, organs, skin and fur....bleh. Oh well first attempts nearly never worked so he looked down and sighed seeing that the book had been completely ruined (soaked and covered in blood and organ meat) and hook his head before he started walking away. That's when he heard the voice.
"hey where do you think you're going...."
And that's how it all started, the ritual had not been a complete failure, in fact he had managed to bring the soul back...but only to the skull which he later would learn it's name was "Dennis" an odd name for a skull but who was he to argue. Now years later Nora had a better understanding of the art of Necromancy but still had his blunders (no more exploding bodies thank god) mainly skeletons doing a little tap dance before going evil and trying to kill the poor bunny. But he still had Dennis...his trusty and somewhat condescending companion. You see during that ritual all those years ago Nora had inadvertently bound the skulls soul to his own...so they were stuck together and Dennis' voice was only heard by the poor male...
Name: Malakai Mikilonious Mikkaddo
Age: 1200+
Species: Black Wolf
Magical Ability: Bloodmancy/Shadowmancy
Brief History:
He sat down at his desk, this student was no squib to be sure, but she was a novice none the less. She claimed she'd wanted to study Shadowmancy the next school term, but was unaware as to how to accomplish it. So he sat her down to explain. He explained to her that Shadowmancy, unlike other forms, was more about illusion than an actual element, and that understanding how to trick others so that you were hidden in shadows gave you a better understanding of shadows, and thusly you will with time would teach one to reach out and grab real shadows with their soul. He did also explain, that special care must be taken, as with any illusion based magic, if one was not careful when using it, even with decades of experience, they could end up hurting themselves badly, or even killing themselves or others.
He also took care to explain the use of blood controlling, which he called Sanguinomancy, and even showed the special rings he wore on each hand, so that he could, even in a way that was unseen, turn them, and make a tight fist, cutting into the flesh, just enough to cause blood, and from there use his own blood for whatever he may require. He also explained that it was possible to use the blood of other beings, but unlike most forms of magic, was considerably harder as they must already be hurt, or your will must be incredibly strong. Causing wounds inside a body that is healthy is not only difficult, but by many considered evil. Regardless of context.
-Cracks his knuckles- (It's on)
Names: Lucas Banyan, Tyler Pontain
Ages: 18,17 respectively.
Species: Fox and Wolf/husky hybrid
Magical Abilities: Pyromancy and Transmutation
Brief History:
"Will you shut that stupid thing up already!? I'm trying to concentrate here," grumbled the older of the two roommates as he sat there couched down in his chair. Between him and the open window was a 8 inch column of flame. Flicking about as it turned quickly to retain it's shape as is danced upon the black granite plate resting heavily upon the desk. This was Lucas' tenth attempt that evening to keep his pillar going for over a minute. He'd gotten rather good with his ability to summon flame, but unless he could control it, he'd never move on to do greater things with his talents.
"I'm trying!" whimpered the other boy. A little younger and much smaller in regards to size. Despite his heritage, Tyler was much smaller than most of his relatives. Being the odd one out, he had developed his talents for 'making' friends and toys over the years. What began as a simple focus for altering the chemistry of a material or object had become and interest in creating life itself from otherwise lifeless things such as the dancing toy car in front of him. It honked it's horn as it drove blindly into the walls and furniture as if piloted by an insane driver trying to outrun some unseen foe. "I think it can't see," he added as he dove for it, only to miss once again and watch it drive off towards the fox's chair.
"Look out!" he cried, but Lucas was staring down at his stopwatch. :55, :56,:57 The leg of his chair was struck with a thud and the pillar of fire suddenly evaporated in a poof of smoke. "You idiot!" the fox shouting, kicking away his chair. "I almost had it!"
"I'm sorry Lucas. I didn't know it would do that. It doesn't have eyes and so..."
"Argh! You're so annoying!" The fox reached down and grabbed the dizzy vehicle. His lifted it to his face in a tight grasp and in an instant it was set ablaze in his paw. The metal and plastic melting as it's wheels spun frantically. Lucas' eyes blazed in fury at the dying creature before he cast it out the open window, falling to the ground in a glow of orange flame.
Tyler watched in disbelief. Part of him wanted to cry having witnessed the terrible death of the living creature he'd managed to make. However, it wasn't the first time Lucas had exacted his rage on Tyler's play things. "What? Why?"
"Learn some real magic!" the fox shouted at him with a waving finger jabbed into the other boy's face.
Damn it all! Spilled my ink well.
Name: Aedan MacArthur
Age: 19
Species: Red Panda
Magical Abilites: Knowledge of Runes (characters and signs written down on a surface. As well as understanding them.)
Brief history:
"Ugh its everywhere." *the somewhat stout mammal looking at the spilled inkwell. He stooped down to wipe up the mess. Leaving his work for a moment. Like it would ever do anything without him finishing it. If he could finish it. He grumbles at himself to focus on the task at hand. His paws helping to soak up the ink. Stopping for a moment, staring into space*
"Why didn't I think of this before?" *he reached up to his work table. His paw searching for a while before he pokes his head above the table level. Cursing again as he grabs the quill he was looking for. He begins shifting a bit of the ink on the floor. Extending it here, removing it there. He was surprised he hadn't thought of this spell before, it would clean up this mess much faster then a rag. Feeling rather proud of himself as he scribbles in some small characters in the center of it* "And...." *standing up and holding out his paws with a smile on his face* "...now!" *he shouted, at that moment the floor dissipating into a small plume of smoke. A hole in the shape of the rune he made now in the floor. The ashes of the vaporized floor now settling on the cool earth below it*
"....." *he gently smacks himself in the head* "Four lines with a crossing plane of binding and a circle for stability!" *grumbling at his mistake, he takes a few more moments to realize that his roof was affected with a similar result of the rune. Looking up as he utters a few more curses and throwing his quill to the table. Making a small unwanted mark with the tip of the quill would be made on the paperwork he had been working on. After looking out to the daylight that came through the hole in his roof. He turns back to his paperwork to find a small sphere of water floating above it. He looked at it, shocked and puzzled as he stepped forward. Looking at the rune below it, letting out a triumphant yelp as he realized that the quill had struck the paper where he needed it to. Touching the small glass like sphere, it would ripple as he smiles. The water he had summoned, inadvertently as it may have been, had not only been summoned. It would float, and keep in this spherical state. Hopefully as long as the rune stayed below it* "Well, at least I have something to show to the school when I arrive." *holding a cup under the water before he moved the paper, it would fall and land in the cup with a splash. He rolled up the parchment, settling down in his seat and refilling the ink well. Pulling out a new sheet he would begin on another rune to present, hopefully before nightfall when the carriage arrived to take him to the school*
Thala was staring at the incredible rift that tore through the fabric of her world. None could have known just what the price of this conflict would have been, not until now when it was far too late. Now Thala stood before a tear in her world that bled the powerful energy referred to as mana into the very air around it. The crackle of sheer power made her fur stand on end, and the burning smell of lightning arching from the edges of the rift stung her nose.
Behind the black alicorn a woman dressed in dark blues raised her hand and pressed it down against THala's wing. "You know what you have to do." She spoke low. The woman's long blonde hair flowed behind her, the lines along her face seemed to show a deep age. Her skin was fair and her frame bundled in the depths of her robes.
Thala was unique in her own way though. Her equine features scrunched along her face as she spoke softly "I know. And I will do what needs to be done, Sapphire. It just takes me a moment.." Her fur was a black thin coat, save around her chest where there was a longer fluff. Thala's wings were curled at her back, and her horn shimmered with magic as did her eyes. Her purple cloth was torn near asunder from the battle that had come before this.
"So much like your mother.." Sapphire chuckled and pulled her hand back. "Do as you see fit, Lady Thala Stormwind Greylight." She spoke and then turned to walk away. "this world is in your hands."
"Wait, you knew my mother?" Thala spun around, her eyes wide towards Sapphire.
"I did, and you may as well one day." Came the answer. Sapphire stopping in the doorway.
"My mother died, there is no way to know her."
"Death is but a doorway. You may discover that when you step within yourself" And with that Sapphire was gone with a quick step.
Thala stood for a moment, stunned. But then she turned and closed her eyes. It was a moment and she stepped within the growing rift. The alicorn could feel the magic tearing at her body and soul, coursing through her very body. ANd in that moment Thala let go.. and she dispersed across the etheral web, forcing her own power out to balance the tear and close the rift as her breathe was drawn.
In her mind she heard the soft words of a voice she could only think of as her mother. "Good job, my precious Thala."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
And once more the alicorn shot up from her bed. Her brow was covered in sweat from the dream as her hand rose to touch her arm. Sunlight streamed in through the window of her room. Her hand brushed along her hair as she slowly stood up and moved to dress. School would be starting soon and she needed to pull it together.
Ever since that day part of her soul seemed to be missing, part of her power was locked as well with it. Her home was lost to her and several planes she had jumped. Now she was here, at this school as a simple teacher. Well that was enough for now.. but questions had remained. Why was she even still alive...
Taking a deep breathe she pulled her robes around her body and then she turned to walk out. She needed to be there to greet the new students.
"Oh nononononononononononono!" The lapine was pulling on a simple black coat that he didn't steal from a dead body he happened to find a few days ago, stumbling before falling flat on his face onto the ground. Several passers by stopped and looked to the male before shaking their head and moving on. A bit away from him the carriage was slowly pulling away, the carriage that he needed to get on....the very same carriage that he couldn't afford to miss since THIS was the only time it was stopping for a very very VERY long time.
'Well...that was mildly amusing...and hey...the carriage is moving away' The all to well familiar voice rang out into the males head. Nora would just groan and push himself up as he watched his transport move away*
"Oh just shut up Dennis..." *he gave his make shift shoulder bag a firm smack, which he hand made out of leather and old cloth about a year back to hold ingredients in while out lurking the woods, and smirked as he heard Dennis remark in response. "Now just be quiet Dennis...we're in public..." *he took off in a dead run as he began to chase down the carriage. Weaving in and out of the crowds of humans and furs alike he nearly again tripped over himself but quickly recovered*
"Oi! STOP! STOP!!!!" *he cried out as he waved his paws frantically above his head. Lucky for him the carriage driver heard his pleas and pulled to a sudden stop...too sudden for the poor bunny to react and BAM head first into the back of the carriage*
'Sometimes I wonder who really is the brains here...' *The voice remarked rather smugly, the bunny slowly getting up from the ground and making his way over to the passenger door. Once inside he took a seat by the nearest window and continued to rub his head*
'And...and please when we get there...take me out of this bag...it smells like carrots in here...'
