I had something in mind that would be in the later TMS -> TNG era. It would be between the time Kirk "died" saving the Enterprise B and the commision of the C. So technically Pre-TNG.

Well as any trekkie would probably be aware. This time frame I am looking at is seldom touched. Kirk won't reappear from the Nexxus for close to 80 years. Picard hasn't even been born yet. Starfleet is still deep into exploration. The Romulans are attempting to set the Klingons and The Federation back on the path to war. (As seen the TNG Episode "Yesterday's Enterprize". I want to use the USS Ambassador as the setting for the RP. I am still doing some research on that though.
Sounds good. :) any limit to the types of characters used? (IE: Go all furry, or just to species listed in the show.) Also, what kind of creative limitations are we held to? (I would like to make a species and personality copy of Fen but have the history different obviously. Though I am able to make a new character if that is the case.)

The Time frame is going to be right around the time of her Launch about 2-3 months after her intitial shake down cruise. The reason I chose the USS Ambassador for this is simple. Other than a few mentions here and there during the TV series and books there is no Canon Records of this ship in the Star Trek universe meaning we can pretty much do what we want with her in our RP.
Addressing Characters. I would like to keep it as canon as possible, But I have nothing against being either Full Furry or human as other species (Vulcans, Romulans, Klingons, and the like will be non-furry). You want to make your Fursona a new species? That's fine. The United Federation Of Planets is made up of 1000s of species across hundreds of planets with new member planets added regularly. I just ask that things like Immortals or undead be left out. (sorry but they just really don't fit in with the genre too well) More too come when I have more time.....
I like it so far. And with a bit of a more creative spark arriving for me in the past few days I am sure to make a character that could keep away from the usual slothy person I play.
Fen.....not play a slothy person? Is that legal? I do not know if i will be using my fursona or another character. Too preoccupied on research with the Ambassador and tje time frame I wanna use.
Ok. Having done some Research I have found that the USS Ambassador was comissioned on or around November of 2325 (46 years before Kirk would re-emerge from the Nexus and 20 years after Jean-Luc Picard was born) There were really no notable captains or starships in this era other than the Enterprise-B which had a rather uneventful run before being either destroyed or decomissioned prior to 2344 when the Enterprise C was comissioned and built. That leaves us with a nice little window to work with in terms of RP. In fact, from what I have uncovered, NOTHING of note happened during 2325 and 2344. Kind of a boring 19 years there.

Still interested here. :) But since you know more about the lore of the trek universe, I'd like to say perhaps more minor events happening. Nothing on the scale of meeting and combating the borg, Q, or time space recursions.
But that doesn't mean nothing can happen that wouldn't be notable for the ship itself. :D
Actually I was kind of planning on plotting events of a more covert nature. Since there are no Canon records in Star Trek of any of the Ambassador's missions I was thinking that the ship could have been sent on vital missions that were stricken from the official records.

I'm game. I'll be looking up some technology of that era later see what I could do with making my character helpful for these types of situations. Though not along the lines of a "special covert operations" type.
Oh you misunderstand. The missions may be off the records, but that doesn't require you to create a "Special Ops" character per say. ^^
This is where I have to admit that I had a random-ass dream about Qaja pulling a Philip Fry and waking up on the Enterprise. x.x;

Alright. Time to be honest. I don't think this RP is gonna happen. It has been too long since I have had a real chance to work at it and so far I haven't been able to come up with a good story that is gonna hold up. For now I am gonna nix this idea and maybe try it again later when I have something good to go on. And maybe a few more interested people. Sorry, guys.
