Post-Apocalyptic Modern RP

I recently came up with this idea, and it is pretty open world so there is plenty of room for movement and growth. I'd be looking for maybe 3-4 other people to join in. People who like to write stories and work well with others.

So the idea is that this:

There exists a parallel universe next to ours, connected. Many people are aware of this, but many think it a theory or something of science fiction. It's simple something Ufologists chase, or conspiracy theorists, something for the loons. Even these guys had it all wrong, our world is not separate by some current that at times tears and we can see to the other side. No it is more like a slice of Swiss cheese, full of holes and it is easy enough to pass through if you have the right type of ships.

These holes are in plain sight. Think the Bermuda triangle, or the various standing stone circles (Stonehenge) or even the pyramids. Aliens.

Anyways, someone on the other side figures out how to pass through these holes in the fabric of space/ time and have sent soldiers and deadly toxins that have all but annihilated our world and way of life. Small pockets of resistance, or people just trying to live, dot the landscape.

The attack was so severe and so rapid that who or what they are has yet to really be determined. What they want with our world or why they destroyed it to begin with remains a mystery.

Essentially those who would be RPing with would be joining me on a quest to find out who they are and what they want, and in the end to take back what is ours.

It will be set in a time not too distant from ours. Future tech will be limited. If you have ideas or question just let me know.

So if you could post your character and their abilities and where you might like to start off in a post below - I could think of a way to bring us all together.

Enters Zero Koranamy a red mechaniloid male from the Hallowstrum court. He taps the side of his helmet a visor drops over his face scanning everything and an automated female voice reported. "Zero this is the realm Gate 3741, known as Kouritin Hal we need to find who ever sent out the distress beacon and assist." Zero looks around not seeing anyone just yet now talking to himself not realized he was being watched. "who would destroy such a beautiful place?"
