Alright, so the gist of the matter is, we're starting 2017 off and we need to do something besides all just idle in chat or hang out in little cliques. The site needs fresh ideas, fresh methods of interaction, and a lot less of the same ol' same ol'. We had some site events run for a little bit, (http://www.furry-within.com/index.php/topic,1662.0.html) and that sort of floundered. Okay, we put a toe in the water, found it luke warm. So what do you, the userbase, want from us? Give us your voices! Tell us what you want!

I'll do my best to fix up my grammer. I'll also work on getting the word out about the site more!

Merchandise?

I don't think we have any reliable way of pulling that off just now, but I like the way you're going!

Awesome! Yeah, the more we can get the word out, the more active we can get the site to be. I'd love to see the membership of active users grow, and with today's social media, it shouldn't be wildly difficult.

I can help with any web development as well as any merchandise later on...
Also an idea, a facebook page, possible fb ads on other furry groups.

I know that I've been largely silent on the site, but like NolFwa, I can spread word about the site and I'll try and make more of an effort to socialize and participate in events or in the forum. I, like a few others I'm sure, am interested in seeing how the site grows this year.
what's the point of an adventure if you know what your doing?

I know it's not much of anything, but naked sundays? or something of that nature?
Venni viddi venni (I came, I saw, I came)

Jackel suggested gaming night. Could do some of the Tabletop Sim again, or could try to find other cheap ways to play some games like pool or simple card games.
I must say, there is not nearly enough nudity in life.

I'm really digging some of these ideas. Having a naked day might not be the best idea, since you can already be naked if you like so long as you aren't banging in the main room. There's even a public room for that sorta thing. Thanks to Fwa and Razz for offering to get word out, that'll definitely help. I don't think either Azh or I use Facebook because of how cancerous we find it, but if someone wants to create one, please coordinate with either of us or both of us, it could be a lot of fun to get one going. The game night thing would be great to get back into, but we've gotta have people that register really show up! Don't register if you're iffy about the time and place. Are there any simple games people know of that we can do in browser, and as a group? (In b4 CaH)
See for yourself!

I know I don't have much room to talk becuase I only pop on here once in awhile, and then only talk to the same handful of people.

Following Latten's train of thought I was thinking some type of gaming nights.  Here's a couple problems I see

1)The D&D nights are good in theory, but either people aren't interested, have schedule issues, or (even in good games) just kinda fade off.

2)Not everyone has Tabletop Simulator.

I have a couple ideas though.

1)Have CAH events.  I can't remember the site off the top of my head, but it's an idea.

2)Hold workshops.  As silly as it sounds I know lots of people who WANT to do things but feel they don't knwo how or "suck".  Creative writing, intro to tabletop RPGs, Magic: The Gathering, art, whatever.  Find someone good at X thing, have them hold a chat/stream for an hour or two.

3)We have a few Twitch users.  What if, lets say, someone picks 3-4 games, sets up a poll and at a set time/day streams the winning game.  Even take a game like Skyrim or Fallout and let the viewers deside what happens.  not so chaotic as "Twitch plays" but there's polls between sessions with what quests should be done, or what stats to raise, ect.

4)Not sure if it's been done, is currently happening, or a bad idea but...we're a site based mostly off writing.  What if we had a daily writing chalange?  Like, someone posts the first line of a story, or a concept, and people have 24 hours to complete the story.

5) One last short in the dark but movie/book discussions?  Like a book is picked on the 1st, discussion starts the following month, or a movie a week

Quick google - Pogo has Scrabble, Risk, assorted card games.  Maybe we could use a site like that to our advantage for game nights?

I agree it is, though the amount of publicity it might being would help. If you need any help with it tell me.

I have to say I actually like Tabby's streaming idea quite a lot. People streaming on here has been very popular to let others join in and see games they would't usually see, even with my own experiences with Alien a while back. Perhaps even multiplayer games so people can play and watch as well? I know Libby has streamed Destiny before, I have things like Dead By Daylight and plenty have Overwatch.

Any kind of joint game could be fun. Uno, and the usual cards and stuff are all hosted on other sites so it'll be better in that respect because everyone can play. It'll be made better with Discord too since that works billions of times better than Skype.

I think the main problem we face is not so much the ideas of what to do, it's people actually committing to doing something rather than just saying they will. The initial RP event was a success because people showed up and took part. The subsequent attempts at other things fizzled out because, as Libby said, users would register when they weren't actually going to be there or were just lazy about it.

So, I implore every user. If you're going to make suggestions in this thread or elsewhere about how to make this site better, actually show some dedication for once. Don't rely on others to do the hard work and make these ideas a success because you taking part could tip the balance as to how things go.

That was my EXACT train of thought.  Some people might like the story or humor of a game, but suck at playing it.  I can't play FPS games becuase the control scheme gives me vertigo, but then I miss out on the story/humor/ect of some games.  Some people don't understand or "button mash" fighting games, but the same thing applies - some are funny, others have a good story

My schedule is shit for advanced notice(I seriously got my schedule YESTERDAY for the week starting TODAY), so that's why I don't want to promise to do something or schedule anything.  But...Micah has some computer set up to stream anything with AV hook ups, so we might be able to join in on this.

There's also the fact that, even with the scrolling banner in the chat, I doubt half the people in the chat itself acually read this.  Honestly, as sucky and underhanded as it might seem...kill the chat for awhile?
