Alright, now, I know people have a high demand for low price, high quality furry cosplay items. Myself and another are going to start production of Tails we may additionally make Ears in the future.

Price has yet to be determined.

Now, I have this as an announcement because, it is, but I'm also looking for input at what people would want from something like this. The importance of one aspect over another. Quality of goods, verses price, verses variety, etc... etc...

Keep in mind, we are just starting up, so we aren't going to go and just into really complex projects, also, keep in mind, finding fabric color isn't always easy, and certain things like special prints on your tails isn't going to be a starting project.

currently, we're going to offer 2 tone tails, multi tone tails, solid color tails, different sizes, wired for pose ability, special tail tip colors, bunny poofballs, free standing, different species tails (Feline, Canine, Rodent, and we take requests on more complicated, or specific species, those are just the simple and common ones.)

If you were interested in purchasing one, I'll come up with set payment prices.

Contact me at KozacktheGray@aol.com and I'll get back to you privately.

Payment methods will also be released when additional details are released. Thank you for your time and input, I look forward to determining things and your patronage...

I look most for accuracy and aesthetic values.  I might get two soon.  o.o  One for me and one for my mousey-boy.

I'm willing to pay more (not much more, because like most furries, I'm pretty broke right now) for the above values.  I wouldn't mind seeing examples of your work before making a decision though.

Alright, I can get previews once finishing the most recent one, question I have for you though, what would you want in your tails? Dimensions, pose able, colors, etc etc...

Ah, I remember asking something very similar some ages ago.  And can guarentee the answers will always vary.  Even now, almost three years into it I still occasionally have to stop and go "Hmm... is this still how things need to be?"

In my experience so far, it's sometimes best to throw together a few items either for friends or for sale/auction to start off with.  This gives people a chance to see the quality of what you're making.  And if you make a person happy with your products there is every chance that they will not only recommend you to their friends but use you again themselves.  A LOT of fursuit makers (I use this term here to cover even those who only do tails and small pieces as well as those who do full sits) start off with a load of pre-made pieces on Furbid/Furbuy/eBay/whatever and that often branches into commissions when people see something they like, but it's not to the colors or sizes they want.

As for prices, the general rule of thumb that I generally see adhered to for new makers is the full cost of the materials + 1/3 of that cost extra to cover your time.  So, to use me as an example, I tend to pay about £15 per meter of faux fur, which would make my cost for a single colored tail £20.  This can obviously vary dependant on the amount of material needed, since a little bunny tail would not take anywhere near as much fabric as a fluffy fox tail would, but one the same token they don't take quite as much work to make either.

Aside from what I've said above, if you are serious about trying to get into this as a small side business, I would highly recommend browsing through the fursuit LiveJournal community ( http://community.livejournal.com/fursuit ) as there is a ton of useful advice for beginning makers, and everyone there is always more than willing to give advice when it's asked for as well.  Even if it's been asked for eighty times before.
