What's the hardest game you've ever played? Normally, I would say things like "Ninja Gaiden" or "Devil May Cry 3" (I dare someone to say that it wasn't a hard game.) however, I recently started playing Dark Souls for the Xbox 360. The only thing I can really say is what the fuck man? I have NEVER, I mean NEVER had such a hard time with a game. Now, I've played WoW for some years and gone through some hard stuff but this? WoW can't even touch it. For example: Capra Demon. You fight this large demon in a very narrow courtyard and needless to say, it can be pretty tough. The guy wields TWO large buster swords that can put Cloud from FF7 to shame. What if he hits you? Bam, most of your life is gone. What if you block? Guess what? Just about all of your stamina is gone. You have to roll past him (While avoiding his two dogs that can curse or poison you) and run up some stairs, fall down and wait for him to jump. When he's down, you have about three seconds to hit him and repeat. Now, by no means is this game a bad game. In fact, I would say I love Dark Souls. The feeling you get when you beat a boss that has made a point to kick your ass time and time again is amazing. Did I forget to mention that the enemies (Non boss or sub-boss) can fuck you up if you let your guard down? Yeah, well they can. You have souls, which are used as currency at various shops and whatnot around the world of Dark Souls. That doesn't sound bad at all right? Well, if you die you lose all your souls and have to go back to where you died and reclaim them. "But what if I die again on the way there?" Well, I'm sorry to say that you lose ALL of the souls you had. So if you had 30k souls? They're gone now. I've had the game for about four days and I've nearly thrown the controller against the wall. Is this game for everyone? No, not at all. If you rage easily and tend to hit/stab things when you die in MW3 or BF3, then this isn't for you. Dark Souls is a game for the sick, patient and generally fucked up gamers that want to punish themselves. Again, I'm not trying to make this game out to be a bad one! All I'm saying is that this game is for the hardcore RPG fans that need a challenge. Since it seems like I've been focusing on the difficulties of the game, I'll go on to say what I absolutely love! The graphics...my god the graphics. The texture colors and scheme gives off a dark, foreboding feeling. The characters themselves aren't the best but I could care less about that. From character customization to the sorts of weapons you wield, Dark Souls will be an experience you won't soon forget. In the end, I would give this game a 9 out of 10.

My roommate agrees with you without saying so.  He spent weeks cursing at the game but he loved it because it truly was challenging.  I haven't gotten around to playing it though.  I only played DMC3 on "normal" so I didn't find it to be difficult at all.

Chronoscope, I think is the name, is a lot of fun if you like puzzles.  It fucked with reality and makes reality whatever you perceive it to be and you have to navigate this guy from place to place by distorting reality.  Some are easy while others are hard.

I've never played Chronoscope Cheeky. Perhaps I'll give it a try. *nods* As for Sthemio....*shudders* That game...

VVVVVV is pretty hard and has amazing music! though the difficulty is tempered on how merciful it is with deaths I still died over 2000 times my first try X3

Hardest Game I played would be contra. I would go an play with a friend in the afternoon. We didn't play longer then a few minutes till we popped in super mario brothers 3.

urgh!! if shooters are your thing battlefield 2142 is BLOODY tough!!

So steam released this new game called "realm of the mad god"
  It has made me swear more than any other game that i have ever played.. ever..
Fun tough, challenging. its rather tough trying to simply make it pass lvl 12.

My room mate picked up Dark Souls after its precursor (Demon Souls) Screwed up on his PS3. Demon Souls was not really optimized all that well so it kept freezing and stuttering until it just died. Dark Souls picked up the pieces of Demon Souls and did the game right. I'm a huge fan of dark fanasy so when I started playing, I was immediately engrossed in the game. Then I learned how to break the game with a nice little glitch that lets you get as many souls as your heart desires.
