Alright I'm still hashing this out in my head but here is what I have so far.

Basically there will be two sides that will have playable roles on either side. Side A being the Special Forces Black Ops (roughly 4 since well...most if not all squads have 4 members) annnnd Side B which is....the infected. No not like Zombies...well....not in the sense of RE or Night of the Living Dead, but I'll get back to that in a minute.

Anyway the four roles for the SFBO team would include:
-The Leader
-The Communications Specialist (IE the radio guy/girl)
-The Medic
-The Comedy relief (Every Squad seems to have one, that one person with a quirky sense of humor)

Now back to Side B for a moment. Roughly what I meant by infected I meant more like a parasitic organism that can inhabit a host near death or within eight hours of being deceased. Traits would include:
-Increased Agility
-Heightened sense of hearing
-Increased rate of healing
-The ability to infect others with above parameters
(I'm okay with added traits and abilities but please...run by them me first I don't want a 'My character is stronger then yours" or "I can't be hurt because of blah blah blah")

There can be any number of infected depending on who wants to play them if not, I'll go ahead and play the entire infected side along with who ever I'm playing as well. Any questions on 'The Infected' as I'm calling them for now just ask and I'll divulge more information as I'm still hashing that part out as well.

ANYWAY Story line is as follows....

A squad of four are sent in to investigate a derelict Oil Tanker in the middle of the Atlantic. This ship has been missing for a total of five months and recently was spotted drifting in the middle of said ocean. Of course the team isn't given the full briefing of the ship and thus after they arrive via chopper they soon realize this or maybe a little later...

Generic and unoriginal I know but this is really an attempt at a combat/survival based RP where you are literally putting your characters that you make...on the line, meaning if that isn't clear enough...THEY WILL DIE. No I'm an ancient being of what the fuck ever, I'm immortal, I'm blah blah blah....everyone that participates do not expect to make it out alive hence...this is a REAL survival based RP.

Ammo counts, Med kits, food, water, you name it...you run out of ammo and don't have a knife on you or lost it overboard? Better find one or find a pipe or something. Now the food and water...that's still in the air, I may just get rid of that factor. But ya...if you lose a limb you have a set amount of posting to stop the bleeding or you die and are able to become part of the infected side....any questions or concerns so far?

Eh decided to add more info on 'The Infected'

The parasite itself is not really important since anyone who plays an infected will already be 'possessed' by one. But it does affect the hosts body structure, more so in mutating it to an extent. I've come up with three different 'classes' of infected.

-The Freshie (Just infected, has little to no mutation but all of the traits listed)

-The Crusher (A more advance state of mutation, more so in the upper body. This class of infected is more interested in destroying anything it sees, crushing them into bloody smears. Has an exposed weak spot on either the center of the chest or the lower back)

-The Stalker (A rather interesting stage of mutation, This infected has chosen to stick to the dark areas of the ship and linger about the shadows. Stalking its prey and what not)

(just three for now, if you have an interesting idea for an Infected class I'll be glad to hear it and may accept it as a choice if it's not too over powered, have to give those that are playing the SPBO somewhat of a chance to survive)

I've always had an idea for a special infected that I call things like "The Leper" or "The Tumor" it would basically be one that's already starting to obviously rot, and has a pulsing wound on it that constantly heals, but that it rips bits off of, which are like mounds of almost pure infection, and throwing it at people as a way to sort of more quickly infect.

Honestly, if the throwing, misses, it'd do nothing but if it hits it could possibly even be slightly acidic to make sure it infects them even if it doesn't hit an orifice.

There's also of course, "The Cultist" a person that is not infected at first, but does everything they can to lure others into being infected. It's obviously not a special infected but it would be about the same, since they work toward the goal of helping the infected.

*nods* hmmm I like your ideas but for your Leper/Tumor It would need some sort of weak spot to make it easier, doesn't have to be easily accessible but it would need one to balance out it's healing aspect.

As for the Cultist, That's a wonderful idea. I've actually been thinking of maybe expanding the playability of roles to...survivors(if they can be called that) and this would tie into that very nicely.

#4
*class Update*

Screamers (These infected are normally limp acting dead or hunched over sobbing softly. When approached they typically grasp and cling to the victim while letting out a rather loud scream before exploding, flinging an acidic liquid goo onto the person in question. Now the 'acid' will eat through the vests of the SPBO but contact with fur/skin will resort in well....you've all seen what happens)

talking about wanting epic hand to hand, maybe if there was someone examining the meteorite and the virus that found a way to prolong the mutation without sacrificing the advantages of speed and such, I wonder what it should be called . . . maybe "Addict"?

or maybe perhaps mutated to a point where he has this advance speed and agility that when shot at he can dodge the bullets and come in for a quick blow with say like his arm which mutated into a bladed shape or perhaps a kitchen knife of sorts. With those two traits he would be a very tough adversary to take down. The entire team would need to work together....be interesting....

Mikkaddo

maybe it could be able to moderately communicate with the other kinds of infected, not directly control their bodies and motions, but sort of "push" them toward doing something or a place
Oops all salt!

Fawkes Werefox

Hmm so perhaps this could be like a 'controller' Infected. Meaning it's one of the second generation offspring from the original parasite so...it has 'some' control over the others...

Mikkaddo

exactly, a sort of evolutionary shift from the original form of the virus, able to vaguely direct the rest of the infected. Also, of course able to do the things about partial mutations and higher speed and all, but I'd reccomend not having very many if more than one on the ship. I mean really, can you imagine there being 3 of them even on this vessel . . . especially if all 3 started to work together . . . good god
Oops all salt!

Fawkes Werefox

Oh heavens no, I was only planning on having one on the ship. With its speed and agility...more then one would surely wipe out the entire team since Special Infected like Stalkers can learn, if they manage to escape a battle alive I want this to be somewhat as close to a real sim as I can. I mean...This RP is merely a trial run for something much much larger I have in mind...
